Short Stop — Restaurant in New London

Stopped in and got 2 bacon cheeseburgers and nothing else, got several miles away before I realized I was over charged so I called and talked to the owner. I told her I wasn't mad , mistakes happen, but she was very rude to me. She went on to tell me I wouldn't get my money back but I d get a store credit but needed to use it within 7 days. Ok so I went back the next day with myself and 4 other family members. I was over charged $5.75, I ordered two items for myself which came out to $4 and no amount returned which was okay, my 4 other family members ordered food for themselves and the lady owner was horrible to all of us! Rude Rude Rude! I was the one shorted and she treated me very unfriendly! I'm never going back there. I use to frequent this spot every week during my working in Mt. Pleasant and I'm now sorry I did. The ice cream is really good, but takes some time. The food, however, takes FOREVER. We've ordered a few different things from there. Maidrites take a long time, the pulled pork special takes some time, and tenderloins take a while. They really lost points tonight though. I ordered chicken strips, a hamburger, a BLT, an order of fries and an order of fried mushrooms. After I paid, I was told it would take 20 minutes . . There were only 3 cars in the parking lot and it's supposed to be good for a quick bite. . But whatever. I was given my food 38 minutes later . . I didn't even get 3 full meals! We got home, and the fried mushrooms were overcooked . . Like all crunch and no mushroom actually left. If you have 15 minutes and want some ice cream, they aren't bad. First time at short stop, gotta say the cashier girl is very rude, she didn’t seem like she was enthusiastic about new customers or any customer in general, I think she was more interested in her phone and not having to serve people. The food was okay, but my soda (cherry pepsi) tasted awful I just sipped my girlfriends water, even tho she encouraged me to ask for a different soda, I just figured the server was already rude it’s not worth asking for anything else. If I owned this place, I’d be making sure my cashiers know to smile, greet everyone with kindness and be happy, even if your not happy while working, it’s not the customers fault your having a bad day just wait till your done serving and be upset about things later.
