Choo-Choo's Restaurant LLC — Restaurant in New Martinsville

Hello, I have been living in new martinsville for about 6 months, and out of those times I have went to choo choos four times, which i live right down the street from by the way. I will say that the building itself is a nice atmosphere, and the whole image of diner style restaurant sits well in my head. HOWEVER, I will say a few things about their FOOD. The menu is rather large and intimidating, with many items and specialty house items available. The portions are generous and the plate presentation is average, but the TASTE of the food is a different story. In other words, the items that I have tried (the wings, the burgers the reuben, and salads) have been below satisfactory to say the least. The food appears to be a ways from fresh, and even the fries are nothing to write home about. (note they do have curly fries which are said to be better, though I havent tried them). Let me say something about their service. IT IS TERRIBLE. I say this with honesty and gratitude. the service is one of the worst that i have ever experienced. (ALL FOUR TIMES). Now i am an easy customer, I only ask that you take care of drink refills, and make sure to follow up once or twice. From the accumulated times they all have been collectively terrible, (note: I have dined for their FIRST and THIRD shifts). I have ALWAYS went up twice most times to ask for refills on all four visits. The servers have an attitude with you from the moment you walk in the door, but LAST NIGHT for my birthday, I went from about 12-1:30. The server was rude and she threw the menus on the table. I order a beer, and it seems to go smoothly, I decide to check out their VIDEO POKER ROOM. This is a pretty nice feature on a positive note. I get back to my table and the food comes out, and the empty beer can was moved over right before the food got there. The server asked to see every ones IDS, which was alright, but the way she treated us the rest of the visit was terrible. She had a terrible attitude and of course, I had to come up to the bar area and ask for a refill (which I had been waiting 10 minutes..

The moral of the story is, DO NOT DINE HERE, it is a overall bad restaurant, and the food isnt fresh. If you live in the area, Go somewhere else. This restaurant is a 3 out of 10. Trust me.... dont eat here.. you...

Okay, this review is not what I hoped to leave. The food was fine. Nothing to write home, my chili lacked any kind of taste beyond the broth. A woman (customer) fell down the stairs in the back eating area. We jumped to help, and luckily, a lovely woman who works for the local FD took charge. I went to get a bag of ice cause that poor woman absolutely ate it. Went to the front and said "a woman just fell down the stairs and I need ice" friendly girl at the register said "yes we saw". Got the ice and returned to help the woman. Things settled down and a server came out and said "you wouldn't believe how many times that happens" she pointed to a sigh that urged caution on the stairs. Okay now here's the kicker. When I went to get ice, they saw it happen and not a single employee acted to assist. It took me going for ice to get them to do anything. On top of that, this happens so often that it would surprise you? You can post caution signs all you want but that's a lawsuit waiting to happen,

Long story short. Food was okay at best. Service was a disgrace and your establishment may want to consider some modification to the stairs before some lawyers show up. Also maybe when someone has a medical issue, idk like falling on their face, directly in front of you... maybe consider actually reacting. Doesn't need to be immediate, but I went for the ice 5 minutes after the incident, and yall were just standing around like nothing happened. I am pretty easy, it doesn't take much to impress me but now looking back, yeah I wish I could rate lower. Had I acted correctly I would have reported the situation to the local PD to create a paper-trail because this...

I moved to New Martinsville in Aug 2019 for a job. I cannot eat foods such as hamburgers, french fries, etc as they tend to make me I'll. Choose cooks was recommended to me for thier baked potatoe. Since baked potatoes loaded are my go to meal in a restaurant, this is what I asked for with a side salad. This is what I would eat at thier restaurant about every two weeks...

Tonight was one of the nights and I ordered a baked potatoe loaded and garden salad with ranch. Salad was delivered and it was delicious...then my potatoe came. White cheese was melted on top with half done pieces of bacon and cheddar cheese. It was served with butter and some sour cream. As usually, I added the butter and the sour cream and started mixing it up. Potato was hard on the inside and cold. Told the manager, my attorney is cold and hard. They took the potato back into the kitchen, apparently threw it into the microwave and brought it back...still cold and hard.

I really tried to eat it, but whatever the white cheese was on top tasted like mud.

Finally disgusted, asked for my check..that came, thy deleted the price of the potato from my check, I paid for my salad and left. Prolly will not go back. Poor service and poor food...
