Overpriced bbq. Not very good bbq sauce. Great burgers & fries! Nice owner or manager? & sweet waitress. Fun to eat w/Navajo people. Most Navajo were ordering the lamb. I got pork bbq sandwich, which is simply a good pork roast, in a super soft bun - not real bbq. Hubby got brisket plate, meat Not so good. Beans ok, I had so much gas, I thought I was going to explode! Not sure they pre-soaked their beans. People adding salt to everything. Potato salad could easily be very delicious if they add pickle juice (sweet/dill), & a lil more egg & tiny bit more mustard, & maybe a pinch of sugar - you are so close guys. Water is great & served in X large cup. Brisket came w/tortilla or Indian bread, hubby got tortilla which looked like a big thick white piece of Indian bread. Not a good mix w/the beef brisket. Tortilla Was delicious, but, they would be better off serving soft beef tacos in them. I can only imagine that their fry bread rocks, if it was anything like the this so called "tortilla". Nice having a grilled chile w/brisket plate. It hurts me to write anything negative about this place, cuz they take pride in their food, but, I have to be honest & fair. I would definitely go back for burger & fries any day! & try the lamb. Pork sandwich would be good w/some "sweet baby Ray's" or "Bull's eye" bbq sauce! Good luck & God bless Doc's Place! Much love. *Addendum: I just read a review talking about how they probably don't season w/as much salt as non-native do, to be healthier. I had wondered if that was the reason. And, they do ask for your phone number for contact tracing, I complied out of respect. If they had been caucasian, I would have laughed at them...
Read moreIt may take awhile to get food, but if you are in no rush, then you should be fine. Pizza and wings are fine, but we go to eat the lamb on a tortilla or frybread, green chili, potato salad and blue corn mush meal. The price for this meal has gone up after closure to Covid. The meal is still pretty good though. Also, for many, you may feel there isn't enough lamb meat, but you can add extra for another $6.xx. The amount of lamb you get is fine for me w/o the extra. They serve large cups of Coke drinks or ice tea. They also have Navajo tea. Shawn, the server works hard and is always friendly and says, "Hi". He is usually overworked and by himself out front serving. So please leave him a tip, if you can. Also, try their cherry cobbler with vanilla ice cream! Very tasty! I haven't tried their peach yet. They have seperate men and women restroom. I think the price justifies no dust or heat (from eating outside), being waited on, not having to use plastic utensils and having restrooms. They also have small Tvs on the wall, but they are turned down so you can't hear them. I think if they played old country music (Waylon or Merle), that would be...
Read moreI ordered the steam corn stew, the waiter said they had “NO stem corn stew” so I ordered the mutton stew instead. 5 minutes later I heard a different table/waiter ordering the stem corn stew. I assumed they told her the same. To my SURPRISE, the other table got their stem corn stew! WTHeck?!? I asked our waiter why I was told there is no steam corn stew and that my bowl of mutton stew is still full so I’d like my bowl exchanged for the stem corn. He went to ask his manager and she said no! I asked to speak to the manager who was apparently “TOO BUSY” to come talk to me. After waiting and waiting for the manager, Tammy Lee, FINALLY came out to talk to me. She said “When I ordered it, they didn’t have any at that moment. That she quickly made some more and DOESN’T EVEN KNOW IF THE MEAT IS COOKED PROPERLY!?!” Hopefully, the person who did get their stem corn doesn’t get SICK!! 🤢 I asked for a refund on the mutton stew and Tammy REFUSED! Someone needs to call the health inspector...
