I have a VERY mixed review of this place: Decor is wonderful. Newly decorated, nice tables indoor & a lovely patio for seating. Much larger than the old restaurant. Service is excellent, very friendly & knowledgeable & plenty of them. Food: my friend ordered the classic cheeseburger & substituted onion rings for the french fries. I ordered the Mexican street corn appetizer & the green Chile cheeseburger with truffle fries as a substitute. We both ordered our burgers medium rare. The Mexican street corn was AMAZING, large, covered with a creme sauce, parmesan & parsley & cut into 3 pieces to share. YUM😋 BUT, the burgers...first we cut into them & they were medium well done so we sent them back. The truffle fries & the onion rings were phenomenal & when the burgers came back, they were on whole new plates with another full serving of fries & rings! This time the burgers were excellent, but we agreed, the buns are not good. They are very eggy, much too soft & became so soggy we had to remove them. As for pricing I think they are very expensive. My lunch was $30 for an appetizer & burger (we both drank water) The green Chile cheeseburger was $17 the corn $9 (insane), & they charge $3 to substitute for the french fries! Personally, I don't think I will return. I think the green chile cheeseburger at The Bite in town is much better, larger, has a better bun & is less expensive! Afterward I needed to wash my hands, (very messy burger) I had to wait 15 minutes to get in the bathroom! It makes no sense for a restaurant that large to only have one bathroom each for men & women, plus that's...

The Bobcat Bite was a Santa Fe Landmark. By using the same name an expectation is set for the customer. When we went to try the new version of the restaurant out my whole family ordered burgers in anticipation of having something like we used to get a the old Bobcat Bite.
Instead we were met by a soggy mess. None of our burgers made it to the table as ordered. Toppings, temperatures and sides were all incorrect. My wife's had to be remade which delayed her meal as the rest of the table ate so that the burgers would not be cold by the time hers arrived.
On to the burgers. The patty seemed to be nothing more than the premade patty that you would expect to find at a chain restaurant. The green chile was cold and stringy with no heat or discernable flavor. The caramelized onions that came with the green chile cheese burger were not caramelized, but rather sautéed and soggy. The whole experience was a watery mess that the bun was unable to contain. By the time I was half way through the burger I resorted to a fork to pull pieces apart as there was no way to pickup the thing like a sandwich.
All in all the experience was completely lackluster. I would not recommend this place as it's a pale shadow of what was once a great Santa Fe institution. If you want the real thing, head over to the Santa Fe Bite and see what a burger...
Read moreA Santa Fe breakfast or lunch doesn’t get tastier and more scenic than what Jambo Bobcat Bites offered us today! Last year, during our annual visit to the area, we had our first dinner at Jambo Café – where we were introduced to the wonderful tastes devised by chef Ahmed Obo. This year we decided to try his newer breakfast and lunch place, Jambo Bobcat Bites. It was about a beautiful 15-minute drive from the historic downtown area.
To our surprise, there was a spacious back patio with a spectacular view of the nearby mountains and mighty clouds. The umbrella at our table kept us comfortable while we marveled at the view and our breakfast meals. I had the smoked salmon omelet, with generous portions of salmon and Havarti cheese and some veggies. Another highlight was his curried red potatoes in place of the normal hash browns – fantastic!
Our service was fast, friendly and the prices quite fine for the quantity and quality of the food. To our great surprise, at the end of our meal we saw a gentleman in a Jambo t-shirt walking around the back patio, weeding the gardens, and checking on the raised beds of greens and herbs. Our server said that he was the chef – Ahmed. We introduced ourselves and thanked him for bringing such great flavors to the Santa Fe area and providing such a spectacular setting...
