Service: 3/5 - Maybe there was a consolidated trash dumpster but I didn't see it. I didn't ask since I only had a couple small bags so I took them with me. There was only one port-o-potty for the entire campground and it was so full, the mound was up to the seat. Fortunately, they had a bathroom in the front lobby/ cafe. There aren't any showers either. All sites are within spitting distance. One guy didn't have power at his hookups, but the owners were quick to move him to a different site, so that was good. Atmosphere 4/5 - They had a covered area for bands to play during an event, which also had a couple of benches and chairs. There was a basketball hoop on the front for kids to play, but there was no concrete. They did have some small items to buy in the cafe/store. Also, be sure to get gas in Carlsbad as there is NOTHING in the area. The trails were ok. Very moderate but is very scenic. They were VERY dusty during a UTV event so plan for that as well.

Update 7/15/18 2nd visit since the new owners took over. Excellent food and the burgers are still Ginormous! Great mom & pop stop, come by and eat some good home made food. Great experience here this past weekend (5/7/17). My friends and family were super shocked by the sheer size of the burgers and homemade fries. From what I understand they may be adding a "Queens Challenge" burger... Burger patties were a little under-seasoned but nothing that cant be adjusted with the table salt and pepper :) Recommended!

We stayed at the RV park and did not eat at the restaurant. The RV park is nice and has a covered pavillion with tables, chairs, fire pit and stage. The 'full hookup' sites are actually partial hookup as there is no waste connection. The area is UTV friendly. You can ride to the trails and there is a lot of riding available.

After we bailed on our trip to black mesa (weather) we ended up in Carlsbad and the queens rv park was an amazing find. Tammy and Cloe are very accommodating with anything they can help with, the park is small so you don't have to deal with tons of people and if you're a hiking enthusiasts this entire area is incredible. My wife, her mother and I hiked down to sitting bull falls (which I would not recommend a 64 year old do this hike) but it was well worth it... great cheap tent camping and if you need a break from primitive camping they have awesome tiny homes to rent by the night. If you love the outdoors and you've wanted to see Carlsbad I would highly recommend making this one...
