Waterfront Dining This is located at the New Orleans RV Resort and Marina, on a canal off of Lake Pontchartrain. Easy to get to by both car and boat with parking for both. The dining room and outdoor deck are on the second floor, accessed by a long winding ramp for handicapped folks. The dining room is comfortable, but we preferred to sit outside on the covered deck overlooking the small harbor and boats. We had a server that was just as friendly as you could get. Sitting near the water called for a tropical cocktail so I tried the Pontchartrain Punch per our servers recommendation for being less sweet as compared to a Hurricane. The drink menu has plenty of drinks to wet the whistle. My wife had her usual soda and lemon. My cocktail was quite tasty and electric pink/orange. For an appetizer we had the Swamp Balls ($7.95). Three alligator and 2 boudin balls that were made with rice, seasonings and the proteins, coated and deep fried, served with a spicy ranch sauce. Both were tasty. We split an order of Crab Cakes and Hush Puppies ($16.95) for our meal. The dish had two nice sized all crabmeat cakes and several hush puppies. Both piping hot and tasty. While the menu is not super huge, it has all the right things on it. As it was a little drizzly out, we had another drink and enjoyed sitting near the water. We would go back.

We stopped in to have a drink and a light bite. Our waitress was also the bartender, she told us to sit where we wish so we chose a table inside but by the patio area. There were two other couples dining there at the time as it was after lunch but before happy hour. After a few minutes she came by with a menu and asked us if we wanted to start with a drink. Since we just got the menu we asked for a few minutes to see what they had before making a decision. She came back 15 minutes later to take our order. We had the swamp balls (including fried gator bites) which were mushy and not particularly flavorful. It is a neat atmosphere, it wasn’t a great day but I imagine sitting on the patio on a nice day would be phenomenal. The price was very reasonable, for two drinks and an appetizer it was less than $25.

As a native New Orleanian, I can say, without a doubt, that this was the worst dining experience I have ever had in the city. The food was barely mediocre and the service was beyond terrible.

To begin, my group called days ahead to make a reservation for 20 women. The staff person we spoke to said they could accommodate us with no problem. However, when we arrived at our designated time, the tables were not set up, so, we have to move the tables ourselves.

Then, the bartender came to take our first round of drink orders, but there were only 5 of us at the table. When the majority of our party arrived, we assumed that she (the bartender) was going to take our food orders, but she said, "I'm just taking drinks in order to not get things confused." After a very long wait, she brought the second round, but a bug was in one of the drinks. But we could never get her attention to replace the drink.

After another long wait (we arrived at 12:30...by this time it was 2pm), a male server appeared to take our food order. He was rude and dishevled. When someone inquired about our wait times, he replied, "Well, I was supposed to be here at 1 so that's part of the problem...but whatever." He proceeded to snap at group as he took our orders, even going as far as telling people "to be quiet so he can concentrate."

Again, after another long wait time, (mind you, the restaurant was empty) our food came out cold and of course some of the orders were wrong. At that point, we began to ask for our checks (it was 3pm by this time). One of group members had to leave. But he only brought her check and no one else's.

After another 20 minutes, we had to ask another employee for the bill and to clear our tables. After another 10 minutes he brought our checks. He when gave me and my quest our bill, he clearly stated this is "your bill." Two of the drinks we ordered were left off of the bill, but we assumed those drinks were comped because of our wait times. We left cash for the bill and the tip because we honestly did not trust the waiter with our credit card, and we were ready to leave because we had been in a hot restaurant (there is no air conditioning) for almost 4 hours.

As we were leaving, the bartender, who we had not seen for two hours, blocked my guest from leaving, a well dressed older woman mind you, and yelled at her "YOU DIDN'T PAY!!!!" My guest proceeded to tell her we did pay, and the bartender screamed back, "YOU DIDNT PAY FOR YOUR DRINKS". My guest and I calmly went to the bar and paid for our drinks, and asked to see a manager, and she replied, "There's no manager on duty."

This was clearly a case of bartenders/wait staff giving poor service because of the automatic gratuity. I usually brag about never getting a bad meal in NOLA, but this was the worst meal and the worst experience.

I had plans to rent a villa for my birthday celebration in a month, but I will not be patronizing Ponchatrain...

I placed an Uber eats order with Lighthouse Bar and Grill. Stephanie with the restaurant cancelled my order 3x's. Therefore, I went to the restaurant since it was not far from my house. When I arrived and spoke with Stephanie at the bar (which was the take out counter). She slammed her hand on the counter and said, I am going to keep on cancelling because I don't have the ribs you want. You can order something else. I placed a new order and waited 40 minutes. Stephanie kept talking and laughing with her white customers and look at me as if I was not there. A white waitdress walked by me and two other white customers at the door and said, do ya'll need to be served they said, no we have already eaten. We are leaving but you may want to ask, that guy she turned and walked away and never said, anything to me. I went to the counter and asked, was my order ready? Stephanie said, just a few more minutes and I said no just cancel my order. I reached her my credit card and she said no I can't you already paid for it. She turned around and walked away and I waited another 10 minutes. I asked, her for her manage and she said, there was no manager on duty. I told her don't worry I'll be back tomorrow. If you order from Uber eats please so not order from Lighthouse Bar and Grill. When I got the food it...
