Sand Bar — Restaurant in New Roads

Absolutely THE PLACE TO BE if you're visiting False River!!! There's fun for all, whether you're looking for a place that's kid friendly for your entire family, or a place to accommodate your entire fraternity/sorority family, this is the place! Plenty of parking for those that come by land, and ample room to tie off your boat for those that come by sea. Most notably Sandbar is the ONLY PLACE within 40 miles to offer Beach Volleyball. 2 full size beach volleyball courts line the riverbank with a 30ft net along the entire bank to prevent the balls from rolling into the lake. Outdoor shower to rinse off sand. There's also life size Jenga games, video poker, boat landing with gas pump and an additional bar next to the boat launch for convenience and busy days. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!! My 5 year old daughter loves playing in the sand. Service is exceptional and the kitchen manager...

Place was trying to scam us by saying we need to pay for 142 gallons of gas when our boat only holds 40 gallons. Management was very unprofessional and didn’t handle it correctly. There gas reader was taped and broken. Also, the girl with the black hair from the bar had an attitude when I was trying to come in and use the bathroom at 10:45 am when they open at 11 am. Employees there are terrible, please don’t support these people. I may open a place down there to let the customers know how they actually should be treated. Owner should be ashamed of the people...

Great place to hang out, great view, volleyball net and sand court. Nice floating dock for accessing from water and docking boat. Or using boat ramp.

Boat launch is a pay to use ramp. I think it’s $5. But worth it. If I’m going to south side of lake I use this ramp, if going to north side of the lake, I use the ramp in town. It’s worth the $5 to use the ramp, especially with the floating dock. It’s very nice to use. Also they have non ethanol premium 93 octane fuel on the water. Which is definitely the best thing to use in your boat. Definitely worth checking...
