Young's Custard Stand — Restaurant in New Sewickley Township

After reading the other reviews I thought I should write my own. People complaining of lack of flavors, or waffle cones the price and just adequate service. Young's has been there longer than dirt so they don't need to be anything. people will come with their kids just because that's what they did when they were a kid. Its One of those middle of nowhere got to be there on a Friday night with friends and freshly washed car phenomenon for no apparent reason. if you're coming from cranberry with ideas of designer coffee flavored ice cream this is not the place for you. Actually adequate perfectly describes Young's. 3 soft serve flavors 4 hard flavors Perry's brand Burgers and dogs shoestring Fry's Right against the rt 68 so make sure you don't get hit while in line. If you get anywhere past the "have day day" line to finish your transaction.the owner a bit of a jerk and not very personable.the younger girls who work there seen to be friendlier. Was just there 4people 4 small items 12 and change. One interesting note is Keanu Reeves got his movie start at this location in a movie called Prince of Pennsylvania. Young's Custard Stand has homemade custard as well as hard ice cream, sundaes, milkshakes, etc. They even have hamburgers, hotdogs,fries, etc to eat before your dessert.bEverything is excellent! The main thing to distinguish Young's from other seasonal ice cream shops is that they have a hand made weekly fruit flavored custard that changes every Wednesday. Black raspberry is my fave! They also have the traditional "twistee". As far as outside seating, the last time I was there they had 1 open picnic table to share. Otherwise standing room only, in your vehicle in lot or eat while driving. Was hoping they would be open today the 4th, but closed... 🙄 Also they are open until 10pm which is...

I don’t normally review unless I’m very very displeased. I have been going to this custard stand since I was a kid, I have some great memories from this place from 30 yrs ago. We do not live in the area anymore so when we were passing through yesterday my wife and I took our kids. I understand at the busiest moments people get irritated but to be irritated with a child for not knowing what they have or what she wants makes me pretty upset. I did not say anything at the moment because my family was standing there. The product itself is great, service was really unexpectedly horrible. I won’t go out of my way to go...
