Flew in with a friend for lunch. Business was brisk and we waitlisted for a bit. A spot at the bar opened up and we dined there. I had the Patty melt with fries. I ordered it medium rare and it came well. It was quite tasty nonetheless. My partner ordered the turkey club with chips….it came out with fires. He enjoyed those as well. :). Zoe kept use loaded with ample ice tea. A good time was had :)

So glad to see this place open again, was once famous for their breakfasts. We'll the new place does not let down, been here 3 times this week. Breakfast was outstanding. Homemade corned beef hash with big chunks of brisket in it was unbelievable. The "trash can" burger was my wife's favorite. The secret sauce is the key. Small place with big flavor. You can't go wrong.

Ellen’s at the Airport, located in Shoreham, Block Island, is one of the best breakfast spot in town. This small restaurant, conveniently situated in the airport, offers friendly service and a traditional breakfast menu with options like hash, eggs, and chicken and waffles. We had a fantastic experience and highly recommend this place.

I am giving two starts versus one hoping they take review like this to heart The good: place is cleaned up with a large menu.. Now the bad: flew in and sat down just before noon on an 80 degree sunny day Only seating was at counter as outside was full. Was freezing inside.

I must mention the place is small and they had 4 staff we could see.

Couple sitting next to us had been there for 10 minutes and had yet not placed an order. We chatted with them and they said it’s unbelievably slow. We finally placed order and waited well over 25 minutes. Sitting there we noticed 3 meals sitting under heat lamp for over 15 minutes Again not a large place. A teen young man roamed behind the counter, not once asking a customer if they needed anything. Just stood there eating a bag of chips. After lengthy time placing order we were incredibly clear for our hash order for the egg to be “extra extra well cooked..no yoke, no runny”..told waitress “we don’t want to be a pain so we are over emphasizing we want the egg well done or we’ll send it back “ After a ridiculous long wait order came with an over easy egg on it, yoke running

Speaking to waitress only comment was … ”well, I told the chef”..who was literally 3 feet away

Redo of egg came ..the egg and hash was bland…the meat tasteless

My order of chicken and biscuit was tasteless..chicken and gravy had no flavor (see previous review of this item).

We are maybe 1/4 end headed downtown for lunch

Only good part is we had a good chuckle with the lovely couple sitting next to about the service, no end in sight wait and the boy roaming up and down never looking at a customer to do even a simple refill of water. Was like he didn’t work there Good luck and hope they get their act together but better off paying for cab downtown and...

I would give no stars if I could. Was here on the 16th. Service was incredibly slow. Waited a long time to order. When we got the coffee and tea it was luke warm. I told teenage busboy and asked for hot water,he returned with the same lukewarm water. While we were waiting 4 people who were clearly affluent, came in from a plane..they also waited for service until one of the men went inside...and came back at which point their order was taken...long after ours ,also a table of 4. Their food was delivered promptly, while we still waited. After their food was delivered, the waitress came over and questioned one of our orders, so clearly our order was not even put in yet. I complained to the waitress, who said it was her first day there, so she had asked another waitress to help her, so their order went first. I went inside and asked the busboy, for a manager, he stated our waitress was in charge(not sure how a waitress whose first day it was, was left managing the diner???) We waited another good amount of time and when the order was finally out it was wrong, and some of the meals were cold. When I again complained to the waitress about the wait, she stated that the other people who ordered after us but were served first got their meals because they ordered cold sandwiches(I wasnt aware that you get served in the order of how long it takes to prepare a meal ). When I received cheese in my scrambled eggs instead of plain eggs, she did offer to remake them, by that time I had just had it. Hopefully things at the diner will improve or I would avoid it...

Yikes! I must say, this is hard to write. I wanted so much to enjoy this place as I did not enjoy the previous diner and looked forward to fresh corned beef on Block Island. I planned my visit since January and was sadly disappointed.

The remodel looks great, the place is clean and the atmosphere is light and fresh, we were lucky to walk in and find plenty of seating. We arrived about 11am and missed the morning rush. Our enjoyment ended shortly after.

We were quickly seated and drinks orders were taken, I ordered a small OJ and was delivered a Large but was charged only for the small. That was the sign of things to Come or not come.

We ordered breakfast for 4 at 11:15. It did not arrive until 12:30. We asked our server for Western Omelet on a Hard Roll but we're told they don't have hard rolls, our neighbors mysteriously had a Bacon Egg and Cheese on a ....Hard Roll. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash Extra Crispy, they had to check with the Chef to see if that was allowed..i don't believe it was...the waitress struggled with orders from surrounding tables maybe due to experience or a language barrier, it was rough..not a very good experience at all. The food was good but definitely not worth the wait. We only get a limited amount of time on the island and wont waste it waiting...
