The hubby and I decided to try somewhere new, and based on some recent reviews we decided to give The Brat Haus a go, and I am so glad we did.
We started out with an appetizer and decide on jalapeño poppers with a pineapple jabanero salsa. So delicious! Hubby finally decided on the Port Beer Brat with all the fixings including sauerkraut. He kept things simple and went wirh fries as his side. It was a good size portion and he said had great flavor amd cooked perfectly. I enjoyed a pork schnitzel sandwich with fries. The pork was breaded and seasoned just the way I remember from my assignment in Germany. Next time I'll skip the prior meal so I can enjoy it the larger serving which comes served with mushroom gravy and spaetzel!!
Although we were both STUFFED, I decided we had to take with us the Homemade Apple Dumpling served with ice-cream and caramel sauce (or chocolate or raspberry sauces). It is perfectly sized to share and we both commented how the apple was cooked just right with just a touch of firmness and the flavor was delicious with the spice both inside and outside of the pastry.
Our overall impressions: The owners have really made the most of a small and unique space, offering indoor and outdoor seating.
Everything we had was excellent, well flavored, cooked perfectly, and not over seasoned or salty. Our food was timed well so we were able to enjoy our appetizer fully before our main course and our dessert was packaged well to travel home.
The pricing was reasonable and the menu offered much more than I thought it would. Everyone from a child to senior, with simple or picky to authentic tastes will enjoy their meal.
We will...

We had their apple dumpling (more of a glorious apple dumpling ice cream sundae) that was fantastic.
Also shared their jagerschnitzle (huge). That was also great and their prices are great too!

Update 6/29/22
We're back in town and stopped by again. Still a great place. Very friendly, great service and, once again, had the jagerschnitzle. Couldn't possibly finish it all!
Jagerschnitzle, kartoffln (a German side dish) with mushroom gravy. $15 and enough to make 2 meals! Delicious! To stuffed to get the dumpling this time.

Read moreThis is the definition of a local gem. Little local eatery specializing in brats. And they’re nailing it with 7 different flavors plus 6 different toppings. I ordered the Pork Brat with the add-on of perigees and sauerkraut. It was delicious and the bun made it magical. Exactly what I was expecting! The perigees were baked, so they were crispy (something I’m not used to) but they were ok. I don’t usually eat sauerkraut but this was good with lots of bacon bits. My wife got the Polish Sausage Brat. She enjoyed it and gave me a taste. Nicely seasoned. They have lots of other sandwiches, apps, burgers and wraps so I’m sure you can find something you like. We will definitely come back the next time we’re...
