Zesto Drive-In — Restaurant in Newberry

This is the absolute first time this has ever happened.. Typically, Zesto's is right in the money.. But this day last week I sat in my truck they called in an order for a chili cheeseburger she told me it would be ready in 5 minutes okay... I sat there and played my game on my phone and gave them an extra 10 minutes just in case before I went inside.. I get inside the guy grabs the pad and goes can I help you I'm like okay I just paid for an order already that I called in over 15 minutes ago and you don't know what's happening right? He said he didn't know what was happening he would go check on it.. but then the young girl came up and was talking to the old lady about my chili cheeseburger and the old lady was looking so very tired like she really wanted to go home or sit down she probably just wanted to sit down but anyway my burger was not ready like the girl told me it would be when I got there that 15 minutes later.. so she tells you the old lady to make my chili cheeseburger I guess that's what she said she said something to her that I did not hear but anyway about 10 more minutes past before she came up with my cheeseburger and I opened it and looked at it because I had asked her if there was chilli on it and she said yes they put chili on it so I said okay I'm just going to check because the way things are going right now I might not have any chili but I paid for it already.. it had a fair amount of chili so I...

My wife, based on her experiences at the Columbia restaurant, said this would be a great place to get something quick and good. Well, turned out she was wrong. In the first place it wasn't quick, as there was a line extending out the door, but it was understandable that they couldn't be very fast if they were slammed. I get that and didn't mind waiting. It'll be good I thought. Wrong again! I got a spicy chicken sandwich ( I was sort of expecting something like Wendy's) and it was soggy with Texas Pete or some kind of hot sauce, literally dripping out the sides of the bun. It was awful--I couldn't eat it. My wife got a chili dog, and she might have been able to eat it --had it been warm. It wasn't. We had split an order of fries and they were in the bag, with the small cardboard container on top of them, so I mean they were literally in the bag, all over it. To top that, they were lukewarm and salt-less. We threw the whole mess in the dumpster out back. That will be my one and only...

I placed my order and arrived at the specified time only to stand for 30 minutes. I watched people come in and leave and still no food. The staff (cook) complained about having to prepare orders close to closing. After standing and watching 5-6 people come and go I see the cook begin to prepare my order, which really defeats the purpose of calling ahead. That's ridiculous. With the pandemic ongoing they ask the customers to wear masks but the people preparing the food have none on. I even saw one of the workers lean down on the prep table. I have never experienced this at Zesto and I will not experience it again. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING. 45 minutes for a mediocre sandwich and lukewarm...
