West Side Market And Deli — Restaurant in Newport City

Good food, but not friendly to people from neighboring towns wearing masks. Some of us have had heart attacks and strokes and such, meaning we don't even want to catch a cold or the flu, never mind anything else, so we choose to wear a mask. We were in buying sandwiches, meat, and dairy. Not only nasty looks from some in the store, but one of the men walking around made a point of sneezing on the surface by the deli where the sandwich food was kept and served, loudly saying something about viruses being around, and the sandwich maker saying she didn't worry about such things. The surface was never disinfected, and our sandwich was pushed over this surface to us. Hygiene should be important anywhere food is served. We had started coming here once a week, but they finally communicated to us that our money is not...

We saw this deli while driving through Newport with my family. Everyone who works there is super friendly and very helpful with recommendations.

This is your typical deli with a wide sandwich selection but they also have a ton of homemade desserts (pies, whoopie pies, cookies, cannolis, etc).

It seemed like the Goodrich was popular and I personally really liked the Gardener (great vegetarian option!!). The buttermilk donut and cinnamon sugar donut were delicious. We also got a peanut butter cookie which was honestly the best PB cookie I’ve ever had. AND they had lil dog treats (which our dogs seemed to love).

Great spot in town! They have delicious deli sandwiches along with other bakes goods like cookies, whoopie pies, various other pies, peanut butter bars and donuts the sandwiches have the perfect amount of stuff in them where its not falling out all over the place but is still filling. They also have good prices. Baked goods ate under $3 and the sandwiches range from $5-$10 depending on size .It's a family run place. They have picnic tables out front if you want...
