Kingdom Brewing — Restaurant in Newport Town

I really wanted to love this place. I struggled with this rating because everything but the beer was great. The inside atmosphere was great, staff was friendly, and there were 8 beers on tap. However, the beer was some of the worst I've ever had a brewery and all 4 of us at our table agreed. We got 2 flights of all 8 beers and we had to force down 6 of the 8... It seemed like amateur brewing that had something gone wrong in the process. I got the impression they were trying to experiment with unique beers but totally missed the mark. They were way too sweet and the tastes punched you in the mouth, instead of having subtle flavors. Maybe we are spoiled by the amazing other breweries in Vermont. Cool spot to meet up with friends. Business is run by locals and I love supporting family businesses. It's a bit off the beaten path off a dirt road but worth the adventure. They frequently have different beers on their menu. Today I got a chocolate raspberry coffee stout and it was sssoooo good!! Highly recommend. The owner is completely rude. Wants to hire music to play and bring more money in for him, but throws a fit when he can’t get away with having the musicians play for next to nothing. Clearly doesn’t understand the definition of business, and has no respect for our local music scene. Would not recommend this venue to any of the musicians I know and/or work with. Also- what kind of man goes off on a woman calling her names because he doesn’t get what he wants? 10 out of 10 would suggest all local musicians steer far and clear...
