We had been looking forward to eating here for quite a while. We had heard really good things in the past and were glad to finally get the opportunity. The story is interesting and the atmosphere matches. Old paneling on the walls and uneven floors that can catch you off guard. They have some of the largest mounted Bass I have ever seen, but they look 40 plus years old just like the restaurant. Our server was very friendly and did a great job. The New York Strip, Earl, was the special and we both chose that with French Onion Soup and Loaded Baker Potato. The salad was small and light made of a little iceberg with a slice of cucumber and one cherry tomato and the Range was in a cup on the side. The FO soup had a small piece of cheese covered bread and 6 or so slices of onion. It was tasty but not the best I’ve had. The biggest disappointment was the steak. It’s a very large New York Strip, 14-16oz, but that’s because they didn’t trim it. It was cooked exactly right at medium rare but it was impossible to cut across. I had two lines of cartilage, gristle, in mine and she had one line down the side of hers. At least 4-6 ounces were inedible. I would have rather had a 10 ounce steak trimmed and cooked correctly. The steak lacked seasoning except maybe a little salt and pepper, and that was hard to taste. The loaded potato was good and had things in it you wouldn’t expect. I was also surprised that big, a relative term, beers were $4.50. I like the location, atmosphere and friendly service. I think the steak was the special for a reason but the kitchen could have made the plates better. You can’t serve gristle. You must see it come back on finished plates all night long.

Ok, if we had been here several times b4 this visit this might have gotten a five star still. But it was our first and even tho it ended well it didn't start of good. We were im sure the first customers and was seated n told she would be back to get drink orders but forgot. Another came got them And ask someone else to take our order. She did so and returned with our soup n rolls. About half way thru she brought our salads which was all good. Then came our meals. Two of these were to be ribeyes-med. But they were done. They took them back and made more and one was ok but other was still over cooked but was a nice flavor and tender shui it was ok. Now, the chocolate cake? warm with icecream n Carmel syrup....omg, I know my son n myself are not gonna sleep tonight. And I'm sorry I don't have a pic of dessert because I didn't have time to take one lol....

Had a delightful evening at The Grease Rack in June! The food was great, the atmosphere was wonderful, sitting outside and listening to Sammy Shults. We started with the French Onion soup, which was delightful. My younger daughter loved the vegetable soup. The salad was beautifully arranged and just the right amount. The steaks were perfectly cooked for all of us, from medium rare to well done. Then, at the end, came Jamie's famous crème brûlée. I wish I had taken pictures of the food, but I was too busy enjoying it! The creek that runs alongside the restaurant was a beautiful sight, and the lightning bugs that were out when we left were a magical touch. I highly recommend The Grease Rack for a delicious and memorable dining experience!

This place has new Ownership. They had their Grand Reopening this past June. It has had a checkered past with poor management and being closed more than open. New Management seems hostile to any one that does not agree with their business plan. Name is confusing It has been known as the Grease Rack for years but they are also calling it Earl's Texaco they use both names but same place. My first trip a few weeks after the Grand Opening was met with a sign on the door that they were CLOSED. This Restaurant is only open 4 days a week and does not open till 4:30PM. I contacted them on their Facebook page and was PMd for my comments about being closed so soon after the New Grand Opening. They also blocked me. I still wanted to check this place out. They have supposedly done a large amount of remodeling. I think it is outside behind a Wooden Privacy fence, Have not seen it because of staffing problems. The inside has not changed much from earlier visits. It is darker than I remember. You have to use a flash lite to read the menu. Steaks are marked at Market Price and cheapest started at 30.00 First visit that I received service they did not have any Sweet Tea made. A Southern Restaurant Requirement. The food was nothing special the table I sat at had uneven legs and rocked quite a bit. I was not very pleased. My Third and last visit basically to see this Outside Creekside venu was a complete disappointment. Again no staffing and that area was again closed. I ordered the Seafood Platter because steaks are way over priced. The platter when served looked like something I could buy at my local grocery. Straight out of a Sea Pac box. It was no where near fresh and not worth what I payed for it. I asked staff about the poor lighting. and was told it is what it is. Men's Restroom also had no Hot water. I have looked forward to visiting this place for quite awhile and really hoped the New Management could bring it back to what it was 30 years ago but they have failed and I will not be returning. Also online Menu is from the previous owners. They have not posted a...

There is a sign at the door that says if you have a bad attitude you should leave. I think the owner needs to read her own sign. It’s not our fault that the food came out incorrect. She didn't need to come out and yell at us. After waiting over 30 minutes We finally got to place our order. One of us ordered a black and blue salad. Blue means blue cheese right? Not here. Instead they put on mozzarella. The person that ordered it doesnt like mozzarella so sent it back. That was the first strike against us. I ordered a loaded baked potato. Any other loaded baked potato I have had included cheddar cheese, real bacon and sometimes onions. Not here. This one just had mozzarella cheese on it. Mozzarella must have been the cheese of the day because the salad was covered in it as well.

When I asked where the bacon was they sent out a side of bacon bits (aka fake bacon). I said I didnt want to pay extra for a loaded potato that wasnt a loaded potato. That was strike two.

Another lady order fresh cut fries. She saw them on someone elses plate and thought they looked really good. Instead what she got was thick sliced potatoes. Well this was strike three against us. When she said thats not what she ordered the owner came out put the plate in front of her and said they are from the same bag of potatoes and she should just eat them! She also said a few other things about not paying for bacon and something else. I missed some of it because I was so shocked by what she did. Also the scallops were overcooked but that poor girl was afraid to say anything.

In all fairness the burgers were good but the steak was overcooked. Not medium rare like I ordered. I didn't dare complain about that. At least it was tender.

Its not our fault that your kitchen cant get it together and Ive never been to a restaurant that made you eat what you didn't order. Sadly I do not recommend the Grease Rack. Enter at...

My husband and I haven’t been out in a really long time and he was craving a good steak. Everything was amazing until his t-bone steak that was order medium came out extremely raw. Almost still bleeding 😵 Looks like it was barely cooked on both sides. The sever was nice but took the plate back with his fork still on it. We got the same piece of meat back rather quickly, but no fork. Had to call her back over and wait for another set of silverware. It looked like it had been heated in a microwave for a minute or so. Upon cutting it open on the other side it was still very rare. We both tried a small piece and it was the most bland I’ve ever had. My well water has more flavor! We called the sever back over and explained it looked like someone had just nuked it. She asked if we’d like to speak to her mother. We watched her speak to an older woman before returning to the table. The mother, who didn’t even introduce herself, was very hostile off the gate. She’s adamant that they don’t use microwaves and it was put back on the grill. I commented that there were no grill marks at all, she comes back with - we use a flat top so there would be no grill marks. Who cooks a $30 steak on a flat top?!? Well longhorn doesn’t … She literally says to us “well I will give you %10 off but I can’t just give it away” . We didn’t ask for a free steak, we just wanted one Iike the pictures the online… which clearly have grill marks on them. She then cuts us very short and ask how many to go boxes we need. Needless to say, my dog got a $30 dinner. Will not recommend or go back. You could get a better steak at ihop. The bill was still $80 after the discount, and we have never been treated so rudely. Do not waste your time or money here, unless you want to treat your dog to a over priced, left over,...
