I decided to take to my wife here for her birthday and enjoy a good meal. Everyone was very friendly and we sat in an area near daylight which is something the wife loves. The acoustics in the area isn’t the best, I feel like everyone’s conversation is literally next to you while the music (nice playlist) drowns in the background. We ordered the calamari and General Tso‘s cauliflower apps which were amazing! The portions were larger than expected. My wife ordered the Paella and I ask the waitress if the Short Rib was good and she mentioned how it “falls off the bone”. I said perfect I’ll take it. While waiting we ordered drinks which were good cocktails and then the disappointment began. My wife received her dish and I received a pork chop entrée. I kindly told the waitress that this was not what I ordered and she proceeded to tell me that she thought that’s what I wanted and mentioned how the short rib was not available. While she was a good waitress and asked if I wanted another dish, I simply didn’t appreciate how she never came back to me and told me that the short rib was not available and just defaulted me to the pork chop. I didn’t want to watch my wife eat her food while waiting for another dish so I accepted the pork chop but what if i was allergic or had a religious reason why i don’t eat pork?????? My wife enjoyed the seafood elements of the dish but the rice was bland. The pork chop dish was actually very good and my wife enjoyed it more than her dish. Mary which I’m assuming is a manager or owner stopped by the table and was very sweet. She wished my wife a happy birthday and checked in on us. We chose the banana Foster’s bread pudding for dessert which was great. The overall experience at the restaurant was good I just wish we didn’t have the incident of the Entree. As a business owner myself, it is very important for me to communicate and ensure that I am providing the best service. I didn’t like the random dish and late communication that my choice wasn’t available. Just tell me and I would have been ok with making another choice. If we didn’t have this issue I would have easily given this review five stars. At the moment of the incident I told myself that I would not come back here but overall the hospitality was great and the general food selection was not bad at all so maybe I will give this place a second chance...
Read moreLots of potential - but won’t visit for at least 6 months until logistics are smoother. Visited Fri July 13 and there were 3 of us. Started at bar while waiting for an outdoor table. 20 minutes passed with no server waiting on the bar table. The table was not cleared from previous customer. Sought out hostess to find service for our table. Had one round of drinks and move to sofa seating outdoors while waiting on outdoor table. Outdoor area spacious and nice. Outdoor bar not ready/open yet. Still some construction on bar needed. Observed waiter/waitress/servers struggling to service the spacious outdoor area. Minimal guests were dining inside. There is one entry way off the patio to accommodate both guests and staff. Staff struggled outside the door to get in when guests coming through or staff hands full and they had to physically free up hand to pull open the door. Just a set up for disaster. And if I was a guest on the inside I sure wouldn’t want to see all the staff walking by with dirty dishes serving the outdoor area. Outdoor area tables about 70% full- they were short on staff so didn’t call our party. My party of 3 waited for close to an hour for a table. Instead decided to just order appetizer at the sofa area. Had to find a server since no one services the sofa area (doesn’t make sense as we were there to eat and drink). Ordered one appetizer. A server dropped it off and didn’t provide plates or napkins. Asked for these items. Server never returned and after waiting 20 minutes walked over to the outdoor dining area and asked a server setting a table for napkins and plates. By that time the appetizer was cold. In the meantime- the staff had forgotten about our dining outdoor reservation. And we didn’t pursue it any longer given what we had observed up to this point . There was no service at the sofa area. Had to walk to bar area to get drinks. There was a guitar player and the music was not very loud due to local ordinances. Music started around 730. Our party never had dinner. We just had the appetizer. We ran back and forth to bar for drinks. We watched the staff struggle with the long walk from the building to the outdoor dining- and stand at the entryway to get in or out. All a logistical nightmare- will visit maybe again a year from now in hope they will have their...
Read moreEdited to add: the owner spoke to my mom about this (she was the one who made the reservation so they had her number) and he really stepped up to the plate. He explained what happened and offered to make it right. He did not understand at the time what was going on. We all really appreciated how he handled this and will give the grey stone another chance. I will also say we have dined there before and the food has been great. The only reason I am not deleting this review is so that those who have already seen it will know how well this has been handled. At this point I would still recommend grey stone to a friend and believe this was just a very off night.
I have never written a bad review about a small business (I just don’t say anything) but my recent experience was horrible. Two meals were severely undercooked (a steak and the fried chicken). The steak was raw and the chicken was pink. The manager offered a free dessert for the steak issue, but argued with my husband about the chicken and essentially told him he was wrong to think it was undercooked. She said it was not cooked like normal fried chicken, but I promise this was not just cooked differently, it was just straight up under cooked. He was not offered a free dessert and She explicitly said it was because there was no error on their part. They did take those items off the check, but again, just the way we were spoken to was kind of shocking. The manager accidentally gave my stepfather’s meal (ribeye) to the table next to us. She then came over with a filet and asked him if it was the ribeye. He said no and had to wait about 30 more minutes for his actual meal. They would not take it off of the check or even discount it. We asked to speak to the owner but he did not come out to talk to us. Overall, I am very disappointed because I loved Greystone. The waitress was absolutely great, but she was the only positive to the experience. We also had to wait about 2 hours for our food because they seated more than they could handle, but in these times that’s kind of the norm so I try not to fault...
