Okay, this place is an absolute gem on Route 1. Quality all around! Fantastic food, great service! I want to address previous reviews about service because it's simply not fair to bash a small place like this over your perceived service levels. Like many small places, when they become popular and get busy, the staffing isn't there to support it. The folks at the Ginger Mouse are doing their absolute best to provide stellar products that, quite frankly, are some of the best in their class in this area. We stopped into this cute bakery on our drive back to Boston from Brooklin. We got an apple nest and a strawberry rhubarb turnover for the three of us to share. Both items were simply divine. All of the pastries looked amazing. My stepson’s comment on the apple nest was “I wish I could have one of these every day.” I second that. The strawberry rhubarb turnover was equally delicious. Waiting for service and being ignored, man walks in orders exactly what my wife and I were waiting for. Takes the last three, I even made a point about being ignored, no comment. Baked goods were good. Coffee shop out side, nothing like cold lattes and mochas when you order hot. I think the staff didn’t heat the milk.
