On Friday, November 8, 2024, I traveled from Peoria, IL, to Normal, IL, and spent $40.69 at Bojangles #867. Upon arriving home and opening my bag of food, I discovered a roach crawling inside. I immediately discarded the roach, all the food, including the drinks, in the outside dumpster.
I called Bojangles to inform them and spoke to two managers, Z and Alex. They were rude and unprofessional. They asked if I retained the roach and the food and requested that I bring everything in (ew) or provide a picture. They denied that the roach came from their establishment and encouraged me to speak to the General Manager on Monday.
Dissatisfied with the situation, I completed an online survey, and "Bojangles/Love's Travel Stops" reached out via email. After our correspondence, they claimed an investigation had taken place but stated there was no proof of purchase and advised me to contact the local business again. I called and spoke with Bill, the General Manager, who insisted that the roach must have come from me.
I believe an internal investigation is necessary at this location. Not only did I experience unsanitary food quality and unsatisfactory customer service, but I am now facing a false claim regarding my purchase. My main concern, however, is the integrity of the establishment. When I called them the evening of the incident, they were aware that I would be following up, which leads me to suspect they may have attempted to hide evidence regarding the receipt. My bank statement will confirm the purchase, and a review of the security cameras should corroborate this as well.
Given these circumstances, I do not feel comfortable accepting a replacement meal due to the presence of the roach, the poor customer service, and the unnecessary commute involved. I will file a formal complaint based on the foul play at hand with regard to the receipt and all the other issues mentioned above.
After this incident I also decided to review their public health inspection and the inspector had this to say "Noted some fruit fly activity in the dry storage areas; discussed pest control procedures." Sad to see it went from fruit fly to roach. I hope everyone else's experience is...
Read moreI didn't want to leave this review because I know the staff doesn't mean any harm and mistakes happen but this is the 4TH time in a row this has happened so I'd like to speak on it. Every time I come here I ask for a Grilled Chicken Salad with extra grilled chicken. I speak very clearly and loud enough, yet they always get it wrong. They end up giving me a grilled chicken sandwich my last 3 visits and I had to ask them to correct it. Today, I decided to put emphasis on the word "salad".... they gave me the salad, but it was with breaded chicken tenders instead of grilled chicken. I politely let them know that I asked for grilled chicken instead of breaded chicken and minutes later they tried to give me a grilled chicken sandwich 🤦🏾♂️. They finally corrected it to grilled chicken salad but didn't add the extra chicken that I paid for. Because it was busy and I was already there 25 mins running behind schedule, I decided to just take it and go. I'm not sure if this happens because people don't ask for a grilled chicken salad often so they get confused, but it can be an inconvenience, especially when I speak clearly and repeat myself. I frequent this location often throughout the month and I just wanted to make the staff aware that this mistake that keeps happening so maybe they can try to catch it in the future. By the way, I'm not upset at the staff, they're friendly and I understand that they are...
Read moreThis is our first time going to Bojangles, and it was worth the drive. We are from East Peoria and recently found out that there was a Bojangles in Bloomington, so we drove over on Saturday morning to get breakfast! It was awesome to find out that they served breakfast all day, so some of us got breakfast, and some of us got lunch. The chicken biscuit is actually a bit spicier than the chicken sandwich for lunch, so my son and I traded sandwiches because he likes more of the spicy stuff. The Bo Rings had good seasoning, but the fries were actually better! We also tried the peach cobbler, which was basically a peach puree drizzle on top of the biscuit. It was just okay, not my favorite dessert, but I'm looking forward to trying the blueberries sometime. I also tried one of the chicken strips, and it was really good! They were juicy, fresh, and crispy, paired with the barbecue sauce they were fantastic! There was lots of seating in the restaurant and they were getting a lot of business which was nice. It probably helps that they are attached to a Love's gas station, so there's a lot of people traveling and looking for food. It's really nice to have a place that has some good chicken that's not too greasy. We will definitely...
