EDITED REVIEW My wife and I recently returned to Pryor's for a 5th time. The 2nd and 3rd times were not nearly as good as the first time, whoever was working the pizza oven didn't understand how to make sure the crust is crispy, but the wings remained great and the salads were excellent. The 4th was specifically to try the "Three Little Pigs" specialty pizza, which was spectacular. Unfortunately it did not make it on the regular menu.
This 5th visit confirmed that we won't be returning to Pryor's. We knew that they changed their menu, but as of the announcement the new menu was not up on the website.
The new menu removed the lemon pepper salad, and the pork belly appetizer. It added Mac & Cheese skillets, a salad that has meat and cheese on it (bringing the total salads with cheese up to ALL of them), and probably something else but nothing that was appetizing. It is disappointing to see Pryor's heading down the same path as so many other restaurants by putting cheese on everything (yes, I know it's a pizza joint, but salads don't always need cheese).
I will say that the wings remain the best I've ever had, so if you want wings, Pryor's is a good place to get them. However, the lack of the lemon pepper salad and the general downturn of the menu made us not want to come back.
Aside from the menu, some new lighting fixtures have been added, including a blindingly bright LED tube that runs around the edge of the counter that separates the kitchen from the dining room. This LED tube also features chasing lights, which when combined with the flickering Pryor's Pizza Kitchen logo from the overhead light, and the wildly flashing giant arrow bathroom sign create a nightmare environment for those with migraines and other sensory sensitivities.
I can't say I understand the need to make the place look like a rave club, but to each their own. Be aware that if you are sensitive to very bright flashing lights, and constant motion visible from the corner of your eye, this is not the place for you.
ORIGINAL REVIEW This place is amazing, the ambiance is wonderful, the service is top notch, and the food is out of this world good. My wife and I decided to try it out since we've never had coal fired pizza before.
For an appetizer we got the rosemary lemon chicken wings, they were incredible, and the dipping sauce was really good.
The salads are fresh and well sized, the dressing is great and everything looked very tasty.
The pizza is far and away the star of the show, the crust is paper thin and crispy under the toppings and wonderfully airy and delicious around the edge. I had the Pryor's Pizza and it was a delight of meaty goodness. My wife had the Soonerque and it was incredible.
Desert was dark chocolate chocolate chunk gelato and it was a great finisher.
The price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get, a similar meal would cost almost twice as much at other local places.
Go to Pryor's as soon as you can, you will never look at pizza the...
Read moreAfter months of wanting to try PPK, our opportunity finally arrived as an invite from another couple to join them there.. And on St. Patrick's Day, nonetheless..
Where to start.. PPK is a wonderful, family-friendly venue nestled into the still-developing Selah planned community..
It has a pickleball court and other outdoor gaming areas, gathering places around fire pits, an entertainment stage, and a silo that serves beverages.. I think you can place food orders at the silo as well, but we didn't take advantage of that..
Our party ordered two pizzas, two orders of wings, garlic knots, and macaroni & cheese..
Both pizzas, the Pryor's, and the Flamethrower received rave reviews from the group and offered wonderfully unique flavors we haven't experienced at any other pizza restaurant..
The coal-fired chicken wings, tossed in rosemary, thyme, garlic, and lemon, were decidedly unlike any wings we've had elsewhere and the accompanying, house made hot sauce had a decadent flavor and added a perfect kick to the already tasty wings..
The garlic knots had an excellent balance of garlic, butter, pecorino (Italian cheese), and were lightly adorned by fresh parsley..
And lastly, the jalapeño and bacon mac & cheese was a fabulous side and delivered a nice blend of cheesy goodness with a nice hint of jalapeño heat throughout..
All in all, we have decided that we waited too long to try this local to us establishment and will return there very soon.. Bar service was excellent as well, despite how busy they were..
10 out of 10 recommend PPK to whoever desires a unique dining experience, an option-filled venue, and...
Read moreWe loved our experience at Pryor’s Pizza Kitchen! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious! We got the burrata balsamico “small plate” for an appetizer and a Mr. Adkins pizza for our main dish. Both of them tasted fresh and unique. The pizza flavor is not like other pizza because it is coal-fire cooked, so don’t expect it to taste like you’re used to. In my opinion, it’s better!! Somehow our order got misplaced or something, so it was taking a bit longer, although not an insanely long time—nothing crazy. In any case, the manager came and offered us a free dessert, so we took it gladly, although we’d probably have been fine if he never talked to us. We chose the cookie bombs, which I didn’t think sounded that good—they just sounded unique so I wanted to try them, but I would total get them again and again!! There was cookie dough covered in pizza dough rolled in cinnamon sugar and deep fried, I believe. Man. The only thing that would improve them would be a scoop of vanilla ice cream! I highly recommend this place! The ambiance and whole experience was👌
Note: it’s kid friendly too! They’ll give kids dough to play with if you want, which is really fun. :)
Edit: We went back again and took others along, and unfortunately, our experience was not the same. Service was just okay and the food was good, but not quite as spectacular. Also, they stopped offering the really delicious dessert we loved for some reason, so the second experience wasn’t quite as awesome. Hope it...
