On a road trip from NWI going to southern Illinois with my Fiancé. Taking in some sights along the way on a beautiful day! It is about 530p on a Saturday in a tiny (fairly desolate) town. We checked Yelp for food and this is the best Norris City has to offer. It isn't eye catching from the outside. It has that small town look inside as well. We were immediately greeted upon coming in the door by a cheerful young man. We selected our seats and he brought us garlic rolls and salad. The garlic rolls have parmesan cheese on them, strongly resembling standard dinner rolls and they became hard when they cooled. (Suggesting they may have been microwaved). You get refills on pop, salad and rolls. The salad dressing is their own house dressing. Very tasty Italian dressing, similar to Olive Gardens (if you know what that is like, then you can appreciate it). We both ordered ribeye steaks with mushrooms, loaded baked potato and steamed broccoli. ($19.00) We were served within a reasonable time and everything was hot. Neither one of us finished our meals, so we ate our leftovers for breakfast. They were even good on a reheat. While we were eating, the phone never stopped ringing. It would appear that all who live here, eat here. A couple of ladies came in for a to go order. The young man offered them seats and free drinks while they wait. Exceptional...

My husband and I have been locals coming since we were kids. Usually the food is good and exactly what we expect it to be. Since about October, we have been there maybe 3-4 times. We have thoughts that maybe they just wasn’t having a good day as some restaurants do, but the last few times we have gotten food from here (I usually get pasta, my husbands gets the wings, my kid gets pasta too) it has been almost inedible and for an extensive price, especially this time ($42.01). I looked online for prices before ordering and the seafood Alfredo was priced 11.79, bone in bbq wings was priced 5.99, no size or number of wings specified, so we expected the normal 12 wings as it’s been the last few times. My pasta turned out to be 25-something when my husband asked the cashier picking up our order and she insisted that that was the price and my husband told her she may want to inform someone to update the menu online. Husband opens his order, counts 16 wings..so we was charged for extra wings thinking we’d only get 12. As of today, it will definitely be our last time buying, my pasta was literally just a pool of oil, I couldn’t even taste the filling of the ravioli. The wings...

So the "N" in my name is for Norris, how appealing it was to visit Norris City for the relevances of things. While it wasn't our final destination, it was however a planned stop. Food was on the agenda. Opening up the Yelp app revealed limited choices but good choices/ reviews nonetheless. We elected to partake in this place. Upon arrival, we were greeted well and served very readily. Dinner Rolls with Parmesan cheese and salad were provided at not additional expense, similar to that of Olive Garden. The rolls turned hard rather quickly as they cooled suggesting they may have been microwaved. My Fiancé and I ordered duplicate meals. Can't go wrong with a ribeye steak. The meals arrived and while we ordered the steaks medium rare, mine was closer to blue side of rare. The portion were large and we ended up eating the leftovers for breakfast the next morning. With a population of 1300 folks, you would have thought that 1299 of them were calling in to place their order. This place was busy via phone order. If ever in the area again, I would put this on a...

I’ve been eating here for over 14 years and it’s only gotten better over the years. Food is wonderful and service is even better! I love supporting small businesses in our community 👏 👏 House dressing and pastas are made from scratch and are highly addictive! Toasted Raviolis, Breaded Portobello Mushrooms,Ribeyes, any pasta with Blush sauce, Turtle brownies are just a few of my faves!
