I hate leaving negative reviews on family owned places but ummm this food was terrible. The ribs are straight boiled - chilis has better ribs. The collards what the heck was that? It was like mush w no seasoning at all! I had to drench my greens w hot sauce to even eat a few bites. They were cooked down so much that it was softer than cooked spinach. Frozen collards really?? The potato salad.. it was literally mashed potato consistency no bite to it and it was way too sweet for me. Imagine sugar and celery salt in mashed potatoes yuck. Literally the best thing on the plates we got were the hush puppies. I could go on about my husbandâs plate - but all Iâll say is his main comment was it was like potted meat made of turkey. Let me open a food truck w bbq - it amazes me how people that canât cook make a living off of...
Read moreI had a barbecue chicken plate today with cabbage, green beans, and hush puppies. Let me tell you, it was phenomenal. The chicken was slow cooked but not overcooked fall off the bone deliciousness, the sauce was a perfect compliment as well. The cabbage was perfect great flavor and not mushy. I've lived in Eastern NC my whole life and tried hush puppies from many restaurants, these puppies were the best I've ever eaten literally. The establishment is always clean and always a friendly staff. I've eaten from the food truck as well, I've had both the turkey and pork barbecue and I have never been disappointed. I can say the food is prepared with love. Great place to eat. I certainly...
Read moreWas in area, decided to find a local BBQ business for take out. Turkey BBQ sounded interesting. What a find! Boogie's Turkey BBQ location/building exterior/interior spotlessly clean. When I informed staff this was my first visit, I was promptly offered a taste sample of BBQ. DELICIOUS! Ordered 1 quart of BBQ, pint of slaw, sweet tea and housemade lemonade. Staff obviously takes great pride in service and food. I will make the trip from Raleigh again and again to try more of their menu offerings: collards, cabbage, green beans. Highly...
