, I had a cheeseburger and fries it was Delicious and the ladies rest room was very clean . Be honest the restaurant was clean . Everytime I have to go to wintson to the doctor I always stop here to get something to eat . I haven't try the hot dogs yet but that is on my list to try . It's down home cooking and it was good food , I don't want to get anyone in trouble but the girl who waited on me the last time was rude . Maybe she was just having a bad day but I will say this if she is rude the next time I will walk out and will not stop here again after reading some of the Reviews I see other people has had a problem with the service so maybe the girl was not having a bad day maybe she is just a rude person . Oh well I will see the next time I stop if she is rude again I will show her what a rude person really is ( August the 1st I stop here again like I do Everytime I come from Winston-Salem NC same person waited on me with her same attitude so I got up and walked myself out of the door and I will never stop here again she was so rude with me all I ask her was may I get some lemon with my tea her words was if I can get the time I will get you some there was only 5 people sitting in there eating so as I was walking out of the door I turned around and said don't worry about my lemon I would hate to see you over work yourself .) Waited 6 days to make this post because I was waiting for Debbie to call me but she still hasn't. Tuesday, May 9th we went inside her fine establishment to eat dinner. We walked by two of her waitresses who never spoke, only watched us sit down. Neither came over to wait on us. A third waitress, I think may have been the manager walked through, looked straight at us, then went on about her business. A couple of minutes pass by and a couple walks in, sits down beside us, and one of the young waitresses walked over and took their drink order. Just a minute, she comes back with their drinks, takes their food order, and off she goes. Both times she passed us, she looked straight at us, then walked right on past. The I presume "manager" comes back through, looks at us, then walks back to the kitchen. Another couple came in, same thing, the young girl beebops over, takes their drink order, and away she goes. We got up, I walked to the "manager" told her that it was ridiculous and we walked out. This was the last straw. We've been shorted food when we placed a to go order and had to go back, we've ordered ice cream, two orders of two scoops, one came out with only one scoop, still paid for two. Debbie, I'd be ashamed to not even bother calling someone back. Now you've got one more bad review and I hope at least one person heeds my warning. “You won’t be disappointed”, said a man from the table behind me. He said this after a woman at the table next to me gave me an unsolicited 5 minute lecture on the history of the place and how much I was going to like it. Another couple nearby nodded enthusiastically in assent of these endorsements. It was actually a little weird. I felt like something of a side show freak being sized up by all the locals not accustomed to seeing someone new. The place is popular to be sure, for I arrived at 1:00 and it was pretty full, and it became even more so over the next hour.

I ordered the deluxe (8 ounce) burger and a hot dog all the way. They hand patty fresh beef and clearly state on their menu that it can take 20 minutes to cook your burger. That’s fine. What is not fine is that they over cooked it and served it to me dry. It was a nice sized burger, but the taste was just ok. And as I said, it was dry. The hot dog was also just ok. The dog itself was the pink type (so you can get some red food dye to accompany the nitrates and nitrites) and was average in taste. The chili was good but the slaw was forgettable. Crinkle fries were below average—maybe old.

Servers were pretty nice and attentive.

The price was excellent.

The food was just fair.
