Family Cafe NC — Restaurant in North Carolina

I hate to give a bad review about anywhere...BUT... I must say my family and I just got take out from this place and it was terrible! First and most importantly, I ordered the seafood plate which the server told me was flounder and large breaded shrimp. She DID NOT mention it was coconut shrimp, which I'm highly allergic to!!! So that in and of itself is not good!! We ordered the children's spaghetti plate, it had very little sauce and no flavor, it didn't come with anything, so we added garlic bread. They charged $.75 for one tiny piece of bread! They forgot to give us our calzone, luckily we checked our order before we left. And the last item was a steak and cheese, my son said that it was good! Atleast they got one thing right!! I called after I got home and asked to speak to the manager. I explained things to her and told her how important it is for a server to inform customers that there is coconut breading on the shrimp. Luckily I checked it before eating it or I would of ended up in the emergency room! She acted as if I was a bother to her! She said she was sorry that happened and that was it. I felt no better after speaking to her. I myself have worked in restaurants so I know how she should have responded. I have never complained about a restaurant like this or gave a bad review. But after the terrible food, irresponsible presentation, and noncaring manager, I couldn't help but too spread the word!! Hopefully they will straighten up, I know my family and I will not be returning anytime soon! Thanks...

So we've only been here once, and maybe today was just a bad day.

But, while the food was pretty decent, the service wasn't all that great. There was hardly anyone to be served, but the food took forever

Like, we were sitting for at least 10 minutes before the appetizer came out. And then at least 15 more before the entrees came out, one of which was not even complete. It took almost 10 more minutes for them to produce the smallest piece of garlic bread I've ever seen to go with the spaghetti that was ordered

The other food wasn't bad. The grilled chicken on the Greek chicken salad was pretty tasty. But the salad itself was like 80% lettuce, 10% chicken, and then 10% every other topping. I honestly expected more feta, olives, peppers, etc, but they just weren't there

The waitress looked like she was pretty embarrassed that we had to wait so long. I honestly felt bad for her, because the poor lady started stuttering when she asked us if we wanted more drink. It wasn't her fault, and I hope she knows that

Like I said, I'm hoping that today was just a bad day. I know every place has them, and that's okay. But if this is a consistent thing, I would not be surprised if this little...

I've been eating here for two years. For the last few months I've been getting the fried chicken salad. I was getting them everyday at one point but unfortunately they are never the same. Sometimes pineapple sometimes not sometimes olives sometimes not. The chicken also most of the time is too hard to eat. The tomatoes and cucumbers are less than desirable at times also. But they always have fresh crispy lettuce and I love the ranch dressing. But I can't pay 11 dollars for lettuce and ranch anymore. I still get them once a week but I feel stupid every time because other than the lettuce ranch and pineapple when they want to put it on its just not worth buying it more than once a week. I tried something different last week. Big mistake! Got 7 shrimp, 20 french fries and 3 little hushpuppies, looked like a kids meal but adult pricing. Also they charge for extra ranch so that's a couple dollars just to get a few more cups because it only comes with two. They also tried to charge for crackers ?? Ridiculous! So instead of eating it everyday like I was doing its cut to once a week because they can't decide what comes on it from day to day and I can't afford all the extra money...
