FAT Juniors Grill — Restaurant in North Carolina

Great burgers here! You get a lot of bang for your buck. The burgers are fresh and always come off the grill hot. They aren't stingy with the toppings either. If you get a cheeseburger it doesn't come with the traditional cheese slice. It's melted cheese that is very messy. Add to that the greasiness from the burger and chili if you get it and you'll have quite the mess. I always have to wash my hands after eating it.

I do NOT recommend getting the fries as your side item. Every time I've ever gotten them they were gross and tasted old. Wish they would change how they cook them. The onion rings are pretty good so I get those instead.

A HUGE drawback to this place is their hours. Unless you work local or have a weekday off you simply won't be able to eat lunch here. They are only open weekdays until 1:30pm. No evenings, weekends, or holidays of course. As popular as they are I don't know why they just don't add at least a Saturday.

Also, do not try to go right at noon. It gets really busy here. There are several businesses right on that road and the workers start flocking to Fat Juniors around...

I've been 3 times now. Service is pretty much what you expect from a locally owned short order style restaurant. However the food is absolutely disgusting. I've had better hot dogs from a roller grill with chili out of a bag at truck stops that were better. Their biscuits are so dry they crumble and fall apart like a potato chip would. The burgers, well I'd rather have McDonald's. And I don't go to McDonald's unless I have no other option available. I had a double bacon fatso Burger. Huge huge Burger. Almost like meatloaf on a bun. Ordered bacon and it seemed like a third of the pig was on my sandwich. In fact, there were three pieces of bacon laying beside my sandwich. And the cheese is Velveeta . I do not know how many slices they put on my sandwich but it was amazing. Fabulous onions rings were crispy and flavorful. I would go back again and again which deter my health a little bit. I have been going there off and on for over a decade and will continue with food.
