First time visiting after taking a different route home found this small mom and pop diner. Welcomed as soon as I crossed the threshold. Can't believe this tiny place had Bison burgers. I love bison and it didn't disappoint. A little out of the way of my normal travel but great food and really welcoming customer service. Highly recommended for anyone to take the road less traveled. Address said it was in Lexington but more in the small community of Reedy Creek

My husband enjoyed his Swiss mushroom burger. The fries are AMAZING! Crispy exterior with soft potato inside. We asked what made them so good. They're cooked in beef tallow. I would go just for the fries! My cheesesteak quesadilla was good. I topped it with sour cream and salsa. This is a 'home cooking' restaurant with friendly waitresses and good food. We'll definitely go back.

I was driving by and grabbed a Swiss, mushroom, and grilled onion burger with onion rings and a fresh gallon of sweet tea. The burger was fabulous. I love soft buns. The onion rings rocked while they were hot. I would recommend eating the onion rings there. Driving and trying to eat a burger and rings that is so much better than most burgers and rings was a challenge.

While the atmosphere is somewhat dim and spartan, Hoyt’s Country Cooking serves a very good Sunday morning breakfast. Eggs over easy were excellent, grits were buttery and delicious (if slightly runny), sausage was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the nice thick slice of bologna was very tasty. Coffee was above average, and the biscuit was, well, if you’ve seen my other breakfast reviews you already know...not very good. Service was good, and the price was maybe a notch high for the portion size. They also have some lunch items that sound very appealing.

UPDATE: Last time I was here I saw a couple of people get the fried tenderloin and it looked great, so I decided to stop in to try it. Turns out it’s not that great. It’s a nice big piece of tenderloin and it was tender, but it greatly lacked in flavor- no seasoning whatsoever. The grits were delicious. Eggs and bologna were good, but the coffee and biscuit were disappointing. The server was noticeably kinder and sweeter AFTER she dropped...

Came in to hour's for breakfast today on 12/9 wed. Hands down one of the best breakfasts I have had in so long. I'm filled up with out all the extra bloating that some grease and sugar gives me writhing this to you beacuse it was amazing. Pancakes were very fluffy and filled up the hole plate. Very delicious. Bacon was crispy but not over cooked and my eggs were sunny side up just the way I like it, not runny it was very delicious. Biscuts were very soft and tasty but so soft. just the meal experiance was very wonderful and dont let me forget the staff at this establishment were so nice and caring. If I could rate it id give you 100% it was that good. The elderly waitress was super friend and nice, will definly be spreading the word about this wonderful place. Best regards...

The food was ok. I got a 10 oz hamburger steak. I wanted A-1 steak sauce but they only had an off brand. That sauce was not palatable. It was nasty. The steak was not seasoned at all. I ordered mashed potatoes with butter and fried okra for my 2 sides. The okra was great but the potatoes had an unusual taste. My friend got the meatloaf. Instead of ketchup it came covered in BBQ sauce. That is definitely NOT Southern. She said it was too mushy. She got the same 2 sides as I did. She also ordered a Bison Burger to go. She said it was really good. We expected a bun but it was served on Texas toast. Just on the Bison Burger we will...
