I wanna start by saying the breakfast here is not bad, but all the other food is bland and gross. Now the reason I give a 1 star rating is because of our waitress. Me and my parents ate here Sunday for lunch around 11:30-12:00. I don't know our waitress's name but I will say I've never been treated so badly by a waitress in my life anywhere. At first everything was fine. We ordered and got our food accurately. Well one of the things I ordered was coffee. She came over a little later and asked if we needed anything I said no. She came back a second time and I changed my mind and wanted my coffee topped off. And you would've thought I committed the ultimate sin by asking for more coffee. She immediately got an attitude and went on a rant about "oh I was just over here why didn't you ask the first time, now you're making me walk more". Then she walks over fills my coffee slaps her hand on the table leans toward me and says " boy, I'm gonna beat your butt. Now do you NEED ANYTHING ELSE". in a tone that was exaggerated and angry. So tell me why I had to be treated like that for asking you to do what you get payed to do? I'm so sorry for asking for more coffee. I was under the impression that a waitress was supposed to do these things. Anyways I lost my temper over the incident and caused a bit of a scene. Then she comes over and asks my mother if everything was alright. My mother explained why I was upset and she just rolled her eyes and walked away. So needless to say I will never eat at this place again. I have never been treated like that over something so simple. And even if she was joking when she acted like that it still...

Well, where to begin. I decided to try Lincoln Cafe based on recommendations from the locals- that was my first mistake. On entering the restaurant with my coworker, I couldn't help but notice the dark and outdated "dining area", but I didn't want to judge a book by it's cover too quickly. As we stood (for several minutes) waiting for an open table, I instantly took note that my shoes were sticking to the floor, perhaps from the heavy use of grease? We were directed to find an open table but we had to push aside the left over cups and dirty napkins from the previous patron-ick! The dining area was VERY small, compact and some of the tables , you had to share a close space which made it a bit uncomfortable. I was nauseated to see a VERY dirty, greasy and overflowing restaurant utility cart full of dirty dishes within a few feet of most of the table. So, onto the food..... we ordered breakfast , to be on the safe side, but was it a good move? Our food came served on RED plastic plates and bowls and it literally caused my mind and stomach to disconnect from the meal. Note to the owner: serving food on a red plate tends to reduce the amount diners eat. Our simple meals that consisted of very basic "breakfast" food all tasted equally the same, like a dirty griddle. We are all in understanding that we don't control who eats at a dining establishment, but to be in such CLOSE proximity with people blowing their nose ,coughing and digging in their teeth during a meal , is absolutely detestable!! The waitress was very nice, but she was VERY busy and had too many table to handle for...

I usually don't waste my time writing a review if something is substandard. But our first and last visit here was the worst dining experience I've had in a long time. To be fair, we came during peak Sunday breakfast time. There were no other restaurants in Lincolnton that were open except fast food. Our waitress did explain that the kitchen was backed up, which we were fine with, not being in a hurry. When we finally got our order, both our orders were wrong. Instead of taking both back, she left one there, not sure what to think we didn't touch it. After a long wait she came back with a mix of our order, so we had to take a mix of the plates to get what we kind of ordered. With the plate that sat there getting cold, my husband ate it anyway because at that point we just wanted to get out. I feel like our waitress was overwhelmed, maybe not enough staff. The restaurant is very noisy, lots of screaming kids, tables are not bussed and people waiting for a table were sitting themselves at unbussed tables which totally gross. We also had to wait for our check and I asked several times for it. Finally, I just went to the front to pay which was another disaster. When it's that busy, waitresses should leave the check when they bring the food. She did check on us and filled our coffee cup, that was the only positive...

I’ve been to Lincoln Cafe a handful of times and overall the food is quite literally TERRIBLE. Lunch that is. I’ve not had their breakfast. Today it felt like I just threw my money right in the trash. I ordered country style chicken pie.. it’s more like unseasoned and soggy Chicken and Dumplings. I get that they cater to an older crowd but that doesn’t mean you can’t season your food! The collards tasted like they were straight out of the can. No salt, no nothing🄓 the mashed potatoes tasted like potato water, again no salt, pepper, butter, milk.. The only thing I was able to eat was my green beans and okra. I ordered my Dog a kids chicken tender with fries and the fries had something that looked like sea salt on them but it obviously wasn’t. I ate half of a tender. It was also disappointing. Whoever is doing the cooking…. Never mind. I’m only giving 2 stars because I like the green beans and the lady at the cash register is sweet! UPDATE**** I don’t know what I just pulled out of my mouth but what tf?! It’s plastic whatever it isšŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø I will not go back and DO NOT/ WILL NOT/ WOULD NOT recommend!

I stopped in today for a late lunch. I had eaten breakfast here before & it was decent, so I wanted to see what they had to offer for lunch. I was greeted & promptly sat in a booth of my choosing. The servers were all very nice & mine was attentive. I ordered chicken fingers(fried) with collard greens, baked mac & cheese, & a biscuit. The chicken fingers were big & fresh from the fryer, yet so tough I had to rip them with my fingers. It was breast meat but not tender by any means. They were terrible, & I was completely disappointed. The collards were very bland & the baked mac & cheese was pretty good. The biscuit was probably better earlier that day but it was good enough after adding butter. I spent $17 for the worst fried chicken of any kind that I've ever had. Bummer.
