Old Country Club Steak House — Restaurant in North Carolina

This is probably one of the hardest reviews because growing up in bahama this was always one of my favorite places to go get a good steak with family. It had been a while since I have been so I decided to take my mother out for her birthday. Salad bar was great, service was great, at that point, everything was fine…. Til the steaks came. My gf and I ordered med rare steaks, which came out well done, so decided to send it back, in which it came out almost purple. Whether it hit the grill or not I don’t know. I’m never a fan of sending food back multiple times, so decided I’ll just take it home. Well my mother asked, rightfully so, if the cooks were new. And we were met with a rude look and head shake. Ok, 1st issue. Then when they brought my box they brought a hot plate, which I assume was to cook my steak to how I like it. Haha. 2nd issue. I had to laugh it off but just wanted to go at this point so skipped desert and all and on my way out I was exited with side ways looks from other members of the staff. Strike 3. Unfortunately they don’t know I am local of 30 years and know this place pretty well, and I believe they assumed I was an out of towner. So I spoke with the assistant manager about it and he was very respectful and understanding. Our small group of 5 had reservations at 7pm. We got there and had to wait almost 15 minutes for a table to be cleaned. Then took almost 15 minutes before our drink order was taken. Another wait for drink delivery. Then another before our order was taken. Salad bar droppings were all over the floor around the bar. Our food finally arrives as our beverages were depleted. Upon cutting into my grilled chicken breast, I saw it was undercooked. I had to wait and flag our waitress down to tell her. She took it back to fix another. So I sat watching my group almost finish before I got anything to eat. They ate dessert while I had my meal. The group check was divided with 3on 1 check and the other 2 were seperated. All three tickets had 18% gratuity added to the already raised higher prices. We were not offered even a deduction for the one meal. Their compensation was to given me a second breast....I can barely eat one, so I didn't think this was the right thing to do. Leftover food is not always the best. None of us were happy how things turned out. This is 5 customers not...

So, we were so excited to get to sit at a restaurant and enjoy a good meal for the first time in almost 3 months. However, that feeling quickly faded. This was a horrible experience. The food was not good, the steak I ordered was cooked right, but there was no salt or pepper or any other seasonings. The Mac n cheese was literally a box of Kraft and even then it was poorly made. I ran out of my drink for more than 15 minutes and the server was too busy laughing and joking with the other employees. For $80 we ate a meal that I could have had better prepared at Steak n Shake. Don't waste your time!

After years we came back and sadly it was horrible. The steak was under cooked and when I sent it back it returned still a bit under and tougher than shoe leather. This time we were out $60 and nothing good. My wife's shrimp was frozen from Sam's Club or something and just heated up. Will...
