Asked server what the Copper Pot was known for. I mean all should have a signature dish, right? Whelp she didn’t know. I asked what was good and she told me the southern plate, which had a double batter chicken breast, mash w/ gravy and an additional side. She went on to suggest other items but I figured the first she suggested must be the best. Plus I got a side salad. Expecting this deep fried juicy chicken breast….. all I got was a Tyson or generic flat fried chicken. Same cheep thing you get anywhere. Mash potatoes weren’t hot and a small portion of green beans. Did I mention the single slice of cucumber, three cherry tomato salad? It all tasted ok for what it was but nothing that was home made. Prob all frozen and canned. The price made it all good…. I will have to try few other items next time…

Excellent food and excellent Service (Thanks Eva.) We were skeptical after reading reviews about service and cost. Not sure what people are talking about, but the prices were great and good food. Felt like home cooked and not a volume restaurant style.. except maybe French fries. Services were prompt and staff was on top of things. Everyone out there was busy waiting or serving. It's an older place and the floor is old style tile and grouts and is not conducive to keeping squeaky clean all the time like newer ones..but they keep it clean. The tables were clean. A must for travelers looking for unique places to try. Well worth it and not way out of the way off of highways. Support local business.

Quaint little restaurant just off of I77 in the northern part of North Carolina. It was fairly empty when we got there, filling up as we were leaving. Waitresses were friendly but not very attentive. Spouse got unsweetened tea, took her a bit to refill it... and then she filed it with sweet tea twice. He just ended up drinking it. His chef salad was a very nice size with lots of lettuce and a decent amount of meat and cheese. Onion rings were fresh and hot (we ate most of the basket before I took the picture). Meatloaf is a little sweet, but mixed with my pinto beans, it was delicious as leftovers. Corn fritters were yummy.

Everyone was friendly from staff to the customers, Southern hospitality from a gentleman offering to open the door for us to the genuine smiles from wait staff. Our waitress, Kaylee was so attentive to us. She was fast, food came out immediately, and every little side dish and condiments we ordered she remembered. I’ve always been a fan of Southern food. I like the good portions but you can also get sides of pretty much everything from mac and cheese, collard greens, sweet potato casserole. We did add the chicken livers to our order. I enjoyed the pulled pork BBQ but I really loved the catfish. Nice crunchy exterior breading, light and flaky inside. Collars greens, creamy coleslaw was a nice addition. The sweet potato casserole with that slight crunch from the pecan toppings is so satisfying to eat. Wash down my corn bread buttered up with some sweet tea and it was just heavenly. I was astonished when we got the bill for $58. We had 5 full meals the addition of the chicken livers and 4 drinks. That was such great value for all the yummy goodness we ate. As a random food stop find in the beginning of our 14 hour drive back home to Chicago, we were glad to have found this place. Bathrooms are exceptionally clean also and my 5 year old could reach the sink with no problem. Thank you Kaylee for the wonderful experience and our full bellies. Will definitely highly recommend this place to...

We have eaten at The Copper Pot for a couple of years now. Over the past few month's we have noticed a difference with the food not tasting like it use to. Maybe new cooks or different suppliers but it has gone downhill. This afternoon, my son was in Mt. Airy and brought us supper home from The Copper Pot. The food was seriously inedible. The chicken livers were horribly dry and I honestly can't even describe what was supposed to be baked spaghetti. The okra and sweet potato casserole were good so that was pretty much what we had for a meal today. I understand an off day now and then but, this, has been declining for awhile. We have agreed that we don't want to waste any more money there to just dump the food in the trash like we had to today. I normally do very good reviews on here but this time, I can't

After this restraunt was closed for remodeling, we did in fact give it another try and once again, the food was back to being fantastic. We will continue to eat there and continue to take our guest, whether local or out of town, there. It was good to see that they kept their word. The service there has always been great so ya'll keep doing what you are doing. Changing my rating back to 5...

This was my first visit at The Copper Pot. When we went in, they were busy. Most of the tables were full, and if not full, it was dirty. We chose to go ahead and sit down even though the table needed to be cleaned. It took 10 minutes for the staff to even acknowledge we were there! This visit was due to a recommendation or we would have left. The server came over, told us she would clean the table and took our drink order. She brought out drinks and sat them on a dirty table! I'm sorry, but youre supposed to clean the table BEFORE serving the patrons. Other workers cleaned 3 other tables while ours remained dirty! I couldnt believe it. Well, when we finally got our food, it was good. The salt & pepper catfish was really good, according to my son, and that's saying something. My other son ordered toast and it took 10 minutes for it to be brought out, even though it was supposed to come with his meal. I had salisbury steak, and while it was good, it was nothing special. It really is a shame that the slow server is what I remember most about our visit to...
