The Dragon's Brew Cafe — Restaurant in North Carolina

So I’m really confused about the reviews…. We were so excited to try this place literally we drove like 20 miles to get there, my daughter and I waited a week to go this weekend and were really disappointed. The only reason I gave it three stars is because it was a cute place and the Guy who was laying on the couch with his feet up (im assuming was the owner) was pretty cool I over heard him talking to a customer on the vape side and he knows his Sh&t that’s about it. We were expecting a really cool chill experience and people that were super nice, but that is not what we experienced. It was definitely uncomfortable and the chick acted slightly annoyed that we were taking so long even though we were literally the only customers besides one other lady who had already been served. So it’s not like she had a busy place on her hands. I love the concept especially being a pagan myself. I was like cool like a witchy dragon coffee shop I’m down with it soooo much…. But it’s a hard pass. Let’s get down with the coffee/drink review. It taste like water down ice. I don’t know what kind of espresso they’re using, but it was so weak It was awful. The whipped cream was gray. I don’t know if it’s like a signature whipped cream or something , Let’s do some white coffee ( beans that are white ) people will flock to your shop it’s literally not offered anywhere in the state I’ve seen. Let’s get some quality coffee/espresso. The prices were definitely cheap, which was appreciated, but I can understand what’s happening . They’re using bare minimum ingredients which definitely helps with the cost I’m sure. I got a frappe with three shots of espresso in it and I cannot taste anything but water down coffee my daughter got a smoothie which consist of ice and syrup. It was awful. I don’t know why we had the complete opposite experience as all the other reviews but it wasn’t a great one. I really wanted to love this place like so bad!!!! . Like all is right with the world veteran owned witchy coffee shop next to the vape shop with Crystals like come on lol 😂 but I just can’t see going back unless the drinks changed drastically. Might give it another shot maybe it was an off day and I always show up for a veteran ran business which is why this review hurts to make. The concept is amazing like if they are going to sell crystals let’s get some different varieties like make it a little metaphysical shop in there the local witches will flock lol 😂. I can Deal with feeling unwelcome I just want awesome coffee and a genuine smile but awesome coffee will work...

I’ll start off with one word. ✨WOW.✨

I have never, and I mean NEVER been to a cafè where every single menu item has been consistently knock-your-socks off stellar until now.

Firstly: Best coffee I’ve had in years! Apparently the beans they get are a propriety blend that’s completely unique to this location only. Grown exclusively for this cafe. And just being candid, it’s ruined all other coffee spots in town for me. At this point I’ll literally go out of my way and drive down the bypass to get coffee here rather than settle for some subpar hot bean water elsewhere.

Visually, it’s unlike any spot in the area. It’s clean, lively, and aesthetically pleasing with its plethora of greens and purple hues. The seating is comfortable and the background music is unobtrusive and “chill”. I’ve spent quite a few hours working on projects there, which is very reminiscent of the early Starbucks days before they made a company-wide decision mandating all locations to be fit for only penguins and polar bears.

And the service? Impeccable. Unlike places like Starbies or Dunks where the employees are just burnt out and rushing you along, these baristas take the time to engage you and patiently help you craft your perfect drink. There’s usually only one or two on shift so if it’s busy it might take a short moment, but great things come to those who wait no?

The baristas themselves are very knowledgeable and actually seem to care (rare nowadays). If you’re unsure of what to get or if you simply want to try something new, they’re more than happy to suggest something for you so you get what you want, every single time. Chloe, Tanya, and Savannah, they’ve always made me feel valued as a customer.

In addition to the drinks, they also have plenty of pastries and baked goods from other local small businesses. That alone is really cool since it’s like a hub to support your neighbors from. It feels like your money is well spent there, especially for the quality of goods you get in return for such reasonable pricing.

So yes, Dragon’s Brew Café is more than just damn good coffee. It’s about the people and the atmosphere expertly woven together. It’s a good vibe, and it’s clean, quirky, cozy, and welcoming.

I just want to say......YA ARE AWESOME! Not only for the most delicious coffee and I can honestly say, both were gone before I even got back in town!!! Kudos to Chloe for listening to what I like and put those bad babies together!!❤️❤️❤️ Now after checking out the entire store, might I add that it's very relaxing and makes your visit enjoyable, I spoke with the owner about all of the products and some of the issues I was having and he directed me to a roll on pain relief gel. Take it from someone who has spent the last 6 months with a lot of back pain and tried products thru my physician and the crap over the counter stuff, let me tell you I have found some major relief this last weekend and daily. There are not enough words to say THANK YOU, for giving me some relief and some much needed sleep without pain. My husband is very skeptical about trying things, but he tried the cbdMD Premium Freeze Gel and even he has gotten some much needed relief for his knees. Ya, if you want an awesome experience along with some delicious coffee or whatever you might like that they have to offer and a chance at some pain relief, PLEASE stop by and give yourself some much needed r and r.
