The Wing District — Restaurant in North Chicago

First, let me say that when I'm craving fried chicken nothing beats my mother's home cooked fried. So when I say that the Wing District hit that spot for me yesterday! I can't really put in words how Great the chicken was by itself but then having the Hot & Honey Sauce...My Gwadd!!! The price will seem expensive but when u eat the Chicken ppl you'll wanna pay more. Trust me 🤣. I also had the buffalo Sauce as well and was also Delicious. It's definitely a home made Sauce like no other. Has a lil sweet with a heat and a lil zing on the end. Great original Sauce. The fries were also Great! They were season well but I like my fries salty 🤣. As far as service I was happy. I was told 20mins for food but it was more like 30mins but that was not a problem. The host spoke to me and let me know that it would be a little longer. I was pleased with that. Tried the Okra as well...wasn't expecting much from them but turned out they were cooked just like mom's use to make them fried hard. Man, whoever taught them brothers how to fried and season some...

This was my first visit. I really enjoyed my meal. I asked for my 6 wings to be fried hard, and they were with the exception of 2. No problem. I have them 5 stars because the food was fresh. I mean, it was hot. It did take 30 minutes, but because I wasn't far, I was able to go back, and the chicken and fries were smoking hot. It was so hot that I was able to make it back to my location without the chicken and fries sweating in the bag and becoming nasty. I'll make another review soon to see if their consistent.

Update12/20 they are never open when they say they're supposed to be or at least not as advertised. They have constantly been closed at 12 or not ready for service for...

I ordered their smash burger and it was cold. The buns seemed cheep and the presentation of the overall burger was a mess and felt rushed 👎🏾. The wait for your food is WAAAY to long regardless of what you order, and I’ve been graceful to go there more than once.

However the Chicken was was good for my first experience. I have a feeling their chicken will always be good tbh, hence the name of their business; but that’s what I get for getting a burger at a chicken joint I guess.

Overall I feel like the quality of their burgers are inconsistent which is a shame but I believe this place has potential and I hope this feedback elevates...
