I have been coming here for decades -- since the 1980s -- and used to love it. But more recently, I can't seem to win with these people! The food is still great, but my most recent visits have seen hit-or-miss service and the servers have been mostly unfriendly and unwelcoming and at times just plain rude. Heisey's, what has happened to your staff? During one visit last month the servers were bitching like bloody murder because I sat at a dirty table, another time my server all but slammed my cup of beverage to the table and seemed to want as little to do with me as possible, and just yesterday (Friday) the servers were breathing fire at me because, apparently, I had failed to notice a "Please Wait To Be Seated" sign when I entered the bar room. This seemed like an honest mistake on my part, as was sitting at the dirty table during the earlier visit. It seems -- to me, at least -- that the bar room has been "seat yourself" for a long time; when did this change? Yet one of the servers on duty on Friday -- a bratty little thing who has an attitude the size of Texas, Alaska, and Montana combined and who always seems angry (and who, by the way, also gave me a below-average level of service the one time she served me) -- responded to my arrival by impudently placing the "Please Wait To Be Seated" sign directly in front of the entrance to the bar room -- and to the point that the next people who attempted to enter the room would have to move it out of their way! It was as if, of course, she wanted to say, "There--maybe THAT will get people to notice the sign!". I found this very insulting and it's just one example of what I've been going through with the staff here during my last four or five visits, and frankly I'm getting tired of walking into this place and feeling like I have the whole waitstaff angry at me within minutes and then leaving the place feeling angry myself. Life is too short for moments like these and restaurant meals are too expensive not to be fully enjoyed. Someone like this server has no business whatsoever being in the hospitality industry. After Friday, I'm definitely going to think twice before I return here, and that's truly unfortunate because the food remains very good and the prices are quite reasonable. But there are plenty of other restaurants in the area that want my business, are clear about what their rules are, and aren't going to skin me alive if I commit a small unintentional faux pas. In fact, after Friday, I may never return, which I'm sure would be the best news of the day to the staff -- never again would I bring any more annoyance or inconvenience into their day! And if that turns out to be the case -- hey, it's been swell! Y'all...
Read moreWe used Heiseys as our caterer for our wedding! Gary the owner was super nice and great to work with. He offered affordable prices for our wedding for a buffet style. It was also super nice that he included table cloths, the food, beer, and other things like cake if you were interested. The food we got was delicious! He will also do special orders for a guest for your wedding. One of my bridesmaids had a limited diet and needed a special meal. He talked to her and made something just for her for no extra cost! All this being said, he does not answer his email so the only way to get a hold of him is through the diner phone number which is difficult because he is not always there. So he was hard to get a hold of. I would ask for his cell number at the beginning, so you can reach him easier. On our wedding day our cake was never cut it was talked beforehand that heiseys would cut our cake. This was very disappointing for us. Some of our guests did not receive cake because of this. It was also a waste of money for us to have a cake if it was never going to be cut. Furthermore, when it was brought to Garyâs attention about the cake after the wedding he did not seem too concerned or like he cared much that it was not cut. Which was upsetting to us that he did not care. It was also talked beforehand that we were providing the wine and that they should use the bigger bottles first. The bigger bottles were not used first so we also lost money in that way as well. Overall, we did like Heiseys, but things were not communicated which was disappointing, sad, and wasteful for us. Especially because it should have been things that could have been avoided because they were talked...

We came to this restaurant expecting great things because of referrals. We were greeted nice and friendly and picked our seat. The waitress came over pretty quickly and asked for a drink orders, and they were brought to the table pretty quickly. My son was disappointed with his cherry coke because he said it tasted watered down.
We had some questions about the menu items. The waitress seemed annoyed that we asked questions and wasnât able to definitively explain what the items were.
The food came to the table with a bit of delay, but we were patient. However, the waitress brought the food one at a time. We had to wait for all the food to come, and we were still missing an item, that we had to ask for.
We ordered a bongo California burger- it was a frozen patty that was burnt. The bun was toasted on the grill - unevenly, presses down, and burned on one side. It didnât come with two really good tomato slices, But have the lettuce that was very close to the stem mostly white and hard as a rock sticking up. The waitress was missing so we asked another employee to get us letters, who ended up getting a salad lettuce (has carrot shavings) instead of a leaf of lettuce. Had two slices of cheese but was not melted. Burger had absolutely no flavor. The french fries looked appealing but had no taste and were mushy when you eat them.
We ordered three hotdogs. They looked good but were on untoasted hamburger buns!?!?!
Overall, will never visit there again. Probably would have gotten better burgers...
