Ryers Store — Restaurant in North Reading

My son and I go to Ryers often to buy take out and salad bar. Today we ordered 2 sandwiches in which 1 older man and a younger took our order. When I opened my chicken salad sandwich I couldn’t believe my eyes. 75% bread, 15% lettuce and 10% chicken salad. My son’s sandwich was correct so I did what I never do ever!! I brought it back in and handed it to the younger guy and I said this sandwich is not acceptable for the money I paid and handed it back to him. I told him I was a regular customer and for $32 for 2 sandwiches and drinks I would expect something better from and old style general store. With that said I sat outside while my son ate his and watched them do absolutely nothing about that fact that they basically gave me one of the worst sandwiches I have ever had anywhere. Worked in N. Reading for a day and stopped here for lunch. Wasn't expecting the best Italian sub I've ever had in my lifetime! The sandwich was absolutely perfect, fresh ingredients, and whatever else they put on it was absolutely delicious. The store has a warm nostalgia about it, really old school decor which I thought was awesome. Customer service was phenomenal as well.
