I honestly don’t know who gave Perillo’s anything less than 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️’s (or even WHY they did) but CLEARLY THEY DON’T APPRECIATE AUTHENTIC ITALIAN PIZZA. 🇮🇹 🍕 Most likely it was someone who likes garbage pizza from an American 🇺🇸 pizza joint that I won’t even bother throwing under the bus. 🚌 American pizza (and food in general) has garbage ingredients & is loaded with preservatives. (It’s why so many Americans are overweight & taking 10 different medications. 🤮) Eating at Perillo’s Pizzeria will have you screaming, 😱 “MAMMA MIA!” at the idea of ever even CONSIDERING eating at another pizzeria. I have often dreamt of visiting Italy 🇮🇹 so my palate 🤤 could finally savor real food (and of course to see the breathtaking architecture 🏛️ ) but I am now 50 & it doesn’t seem it will happen any time soon. HOWEVER, finding this diamond 💎 in the ruff has provided me the joy of at least having authentic pizza. 🍕 Just for reference, I don’t even like pizza. 🤷🏻♀️ Sure it’s “O.K.” and I will consume it MAYBE once every few months but I truly don’t enjoy it. UNTIL I HAD PERILLO’S PIZZA! 😋 If I didn’t live 40 minutes away, I’d gladly & most willingly would spend my husband’s entire paycheck eating here every day that they are open. 🫣 Hell… I’d even apply for a job just so I could learn how to cook like an Italian woman. This gem 💎 is tucked away in a cozy, older building. When making your visit, please be sure to bring CASH 💵 because they do not take credit or debit cards. 💳 If the weather permits, make sure you sit outside in their courtyard! The service is wonderful and if you’re lucky enough to meet Damiano Perillo himself? Take the time to chat. 💬 He is incredibly wonderful and will make you feel like you’re family. Read moreWe arrived at 7:30pm, there was a party of 4 that was seated right before our party of 4. We were not greeted and we treated like we were not welcome. We watched 2 servers argue over who was going serve us. The party that was seated before us received there drinks and appetizers before our server even came to our table. We got our drinks and appetizers pretty quickly, which was great!! Our actual meal, however, we didn't not receive until about 8:45pm. Our server never came back to take our appetizers plates. We had to keep looking over where the servers were standing around and finally a different server came over and asked if needed something. We asked if our food was almost ready, as the table that was seated right before us had eaten, paid and left already. Eventually came back and said it would be out shortly. We got our food and we had to hand them our appetizers plates so our food could be placed on the table. 3 of us got calzones the other got pesto ckn. The calzones were pretty thrown together and the ingredients were not spread out through the calzone. They closed at 9pm, so we ate quickly. I finally had to go ask for boxes and our check. I went to the restroom and had to clean the toilet before using it. Got back to our table and we had received our boxes but still no check. We finally had to walk up to the counter to get our checks taken care of. We were not pleased with the service at all, very unprofessional. Disappointing as we travel around to try small establishments in small towns. We have never felt so unwelcome in any establishment before in...
Read moreOur pizza journey continued to Perillo's that had been on our list for quite awhile. We ordered the NY style with black olives and fresh tomatoes. The Sicilian we had made with sausage, pepperoni, green peppers and black olives. We also had an order of their bread twists garlic. After picking up our order we just had to try a slice of the NY style right away. In the outdoor patio area, we each had a slice and it was one of the best first pizza bites ever. The flavor was slightly sweet, just the right amount of cheese and the fresh tomatoes were great. The crust as you can see was thin, perfectly cooked and a great chew. We also want had a garlic bread twist. They look like cinnamon rolls and were out of sight wonderful. Warm, soft , garlic brushed butter it seemed. Once home we tried the Sicilian. Great crust, cooked perfect with great mouthfeel. The ingredients melded well . The whole order was $52 and well worth it. There were only the two of us but what we ordered could easily serve like 6 or more. We're from Indy and it was a bit of a drive but one well worth it. ...
