Santello's — Restaurant in North Strabane Township

My wife and I wanted to give this spot another chance as we didn't care for Frankie I's menu. Our experience on this random Tuesday was too bizarre not to share. We got a booth at the bar and asked our server if we could just hang out and have some drinks and order food to go later. They had a band playing and it wasn't busy at all so there is no way this would be a problem in any normal establishment. After our second drink my wife asked for a water and the waitress told us that her shift was ending and she would have to cash us out. A bit strange but whatever I'm sure they will send another waitress, after all they have valet service. After no one came for 30 minutes I eventually went up to the bar and they said we had to come to the bar if we wanted to keep ordering... Ok fine(I really wanted to like this place) so I convince her to leave our booth and go sit at the bar. While we're at the bar a random person, I assume he was a manager asked me if I was looking for work? We were dressed nice it was a bit confusing but I explained that I already run a company so I'm good on work. I assumed because we got such terrible service that chased us all around the restaurant when all we wanted to do was come and spend money that they needed better people. I told the guy on the way out I hope he finds the people he's looking for and he got all mad and said he's been running this place for 30 years, like why did he get mad at me what did I do besides walk in wanting to spend money and have a good time! Also you approached me about needing people! Not to mention our server left a half hour after we were there and we had to move to the bar! Literally the least hospitable experience I've ever had eating out and we did nothing wrong except want to have a good time and spend money... This clueless 'manager' is enough to make us never come back, a shame because the food was pretty good. I don't see how service could be this bad and how badly it is handled by the management to seem like our fault but we'll never be going back and will tell our friends and...

We went from being a long time customer to NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN! This place gave us the worst service! They have a HORRIBLE manager. The one that we had to deal with looked somewhere between the ages of 26-30, and had short blonde hair. The staff did not know what they were doing. We went there yesterday and we were not waited on. Then, a guy and some woman came in after us and were waited on before we were. They were sitting next to us! My mom had to actually go to the bar to get menus because we did not get any. We got there at about 5 PM and did not get our food until 5:48 PM. We were sitting for such a long time and then when the blonde young manager came up to our table, she started arguing with my mom and took these time receipts to attempt to prove my mom wrong. Her logic made NO sense because i checked the times. We were there at 5 and did not get our food until 5:48! We have been waiting for much longer than we should have. We waited more like 40 minutes for our food to get to our table. The manager was incredibly rude to us and started arguing with my mother. This was the worst service they have ever given us. I want to warn every person to not go there. They have extremely unprofessional service and rude staff. I also must warn you, their food is NOT THAT GOOD! I had a hamburger and fries and I need to say, I had much better burgers at cheaper places. Their burgers are VERY average tasting and they undercook their fries! Their food is not worth the wait. Do not go there! Nothing about it is worth it. You can go to some really cheap cafe and get way better food for much cheaper than this place. If you want good service AND GOOD FOOD, do NOT go to...

Food was ok. Service was not good. In short, I'll never come here again.

I waited at the counter for a few minutes when I entered; not a big deal. A pale, bleach-blonde girl (she didn't give me her name) eventually arrived at the register, and instead of welcoming me to the restaurant or asking me how many would be in my party (I was by myself and waiting on the rest of my group) she just stared at me with eyebrows raised. I half-expected her to say, "What do you want?" that's what her face looked like, like I was wasting her time.

I sat and perused a menu while I waited for the rest of my group. Several times I tried to get the girl's attention — and she wasn't on the other side of the vast room, she was walking right in front of me — but she ignored me and kept hovering around a table of men. She seemed very concerned with getting them their third round of beers.

When the rest of my group arrived, they saw me and approached me. As they walked past the register, the girl flew past them and didn't say a word to them. When she came back, I finally managed to get her attention—again, those eyebrow and that "what do you want" attitude— and let her know we were ready to be seated outside.

The girl who waited on us was very nice. She didn't give us her name either, but she was very tan and had long, dark-brown hair. The food was good, but the atmosphere was uncomfortable. There was a guy vaping, so huge clouds of smoke kept billowing over to where we were sitting. At one point, this really creepy guy caught a cicada, slowly pulled its wings off, and ATE it. And the staff didn't say anything. It was disgusting.

Like I said, I'll never go to Frankie...
