This establishment puts the “Family” in Family Dinner night. Although this is an invitation only experience, one may sneak in after the owner has indulged in 4 lemoncellos, or sucked down aperol spritz while sous cheffing throughout the morning of food preparation. The owner operator quadruples as a chef, server, bartender and critic. Not just a critic of the food he just prepared, but basically anything he doesn’t agree with in your life. You better hope the rainbows or yanks won, or the 5’ 3” chef may “drop” a glass or 2 throughout the night. I recommend the homemade meatballs with house-made bolognese sauce over a bed of fresh angel hair pasta. My dish had a grey beard hair that dangled off the side of my plate, but it only added to the appeal knowing that the chef earned that grey with his overly stressful sports team choices which allow the real inner New York themed Italian attitude to be revealed. Truly a unique dining experience. Food was excellent, as advertised. Heavy handed pours on the cocktails completely overcompensated for the short wine list. The rave-like music might seem odd for an Italian restaurant, but seeing the chef also take control as DJ was a fun surprise. If you’re a sports fan, this won’t be your cup of tea. Just 1 TV in the dining space and it seemed to only play the Yankees and 49ers losing games on a loop. Meals were prepared with attention to detail and served family style.
