Lakeside Woodfire Pizza isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a holy pilgrimage for anyone who respects carbs, cheese, and the sheer majesty of wood-fired cooking. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the intoxicating aroma of fresh dough meeting open flames, and I knew I was in for something special.
Let’s start with the rail bread. I don’t know who decided to combine pizza crust and buttery garlic magic, but they deserve a Nobel Prize. This bread was so fluffy and flavorful that I nearly proposed to it. I mean, my grandma made great bread, but this? This tasted like it was kneaded by angels and baked in a hearth blessed by Zeus himself.
Now, the pizzas. Sweet baby marinara, these pies are next-level. I ordered one with PICKLES on it, because apparently, I live for chaos now. But hear me out: it WORKS. The tanginess of the pickles with the creamy cheese and smoky crust? It’s like a flavor rave in your mouth, and everyone’s invited. If you’re skeptical, let me just say this—your taste buds deserve to be as adventurous as your Netflix recommendations.
The buffet was a masterpiece. They kept it stocked like their lives depended on it, and every slice was fresh, hot, and unapologetically delicious. I went back so many times that I’m pretty sure the staff considered an intervention.
Speaking of the staff, they’re amazing. Big shoutout to the girl working the oven—she’s a pizza wizard. Watching her slide pies in and out of the woodfire oven like she’s playing a high-stakes game of edible Tetris was mesmerizing. She’s quick, efficient, and clearly passionate about her craft. (Also, not gonna lie, she’s pretty cute. But more importantly, she’s out here turning dough into art.)
And don’t even get me started on the pizza sub bread. One bite of that, and I was 10 years old again, sitting in my grandma’s kitchen, eating freshly baked buns straight out of the oven. Except this version came with melted cheese and cured meats, which is obviously the upgrade I didn’t know my childhood needed.
In summary, Lakeside Woodfire Pizza isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place to experience. Between the legendary rail bread, the mind-blowing pickle pizza, and the sheer energy of the staff, I’ve officially found my new happy place.
P.S. To the oven girl: you’re killing it. Keep doing what you’re doing. And to the buffet—never...
Read moreEverything I've had from here has been great! It's a little pricey for pizza, but its really really good pizza! They also have specials not on the menu. They had a loaded potato chicken soup thing that was AWESOME!! The guy that made it was there that night and he was professional, but kinda down home too. Made me feel comfortable and WELCOME!! They have beer and wine ( I like beer not wine, but I did try it and it was better than I expected) They also have ice cream that I will probably try this weekend. I seriously can't say enough good things about this place! The hours of operation are strange to me, and I can't remember if I'm supposed to seat myself or wait. The restaurant itself is very clean and the staff is always helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone! Ramanos (Scipio pizza) gets a lot of the attention around here. Next time you want Ramanos, come here, it's so...
Read moreI recommend getting the Rail bread for an appetizer. It's like a deluxe cheese pizza with the same delicious wood fired crispy crust they use for the rest of their pizzas. And the full size order is absolutely massive! Their actual pizzas are great as well. The topping to crust ratio is on point. Not too much to where it's just a sloppy mess & not so little that you just feel like you're eating mostly bread. Of course, there's also always room in the dessert stomach for a slice of cheesecake(peanut butter & chocolate is my new favorite), or a large brownie with homemade ice cream, or just a little bowl of ice cream for a sweet treat after the main meal. Haven't tried any of the dessert pizzas yet, but they sure sound yummy. The prices are comparable to what you'd pay at a franchise pizza place, but the quality is...
