I would not recommend ordering from this bakery. I ordered 30 cupcakes that I wanted made into a cross for my daughters baptism. I originally contacted the bakery on Facebook messenger on June 25th and was told to call the bakery the next morning. The next morning I called the bakery and spoke to a lady. I told the lady exactly what I wanted and asked if it was possible to have done. She responded back and said yes and was provided a phone number and was told text the cake decorator my name, what I wanted done, when I would be picking it up and any pictures I had. I went ahead and sent the number provided all of my details and a picture of what I wanted. Shortly after sending the message I received a thumbs up 👍🏼 reply from the cake decorator.
Fast forward to July 13th. I arrived at the bakery. My husband went inside to pickup the cupcakes, shortly after he came back out and told me they didn't have our order. I was in my car tending to my baby so I called them on the phone and questioned what was going on. The lady who answered told me they don't see my order on the calendar and that they don't have it. I went inside and showed proof that I placed the order and the owners husband confirmed I messaged the correct number and he seen the number responded back to me. The owners husband called his wife and was on the phone with her for a few minutes explaining the situation to her. At this point I'm absolutely devastated!! My daughters baptism was in 5 hours and now I don't have anything to take to her reception to share with our guests. Once the owners husband was off the phone he offered me two small cakes that he had in the fridge. I appreciate the fact that he offered the two cakes however I explained to him that I ordered 30 cupcakes and that the small cakes would not be enough for all my guests. The owners husband than proceeded to tell me that each cake serves 8 and that it would be a total of 16 pieces with the two cakes. I then again explain to him that we have 25 guests coming and that it wouldn't be enough. He responded to tell me "we'll not everyone eats cake". (Actually every single guest that came ate a slice of cake).
I do appreciate the fact that he gave us the two small cakes for free however it wasn't what I ordered, and wasn't enough for my guests.
Anyway I left the bakery absolutely devastated. Since we had two small cakes that wouldn't be enough, I had to stop at giant to purchase another cake so I could serve all my guests.
Would...
Read moreI’m moving out of the area and I feel like I owe this bakery a stellar review. My family and I came to the Lehigh Valley about four years ago but it took about two years for me to learn about The Bakery Nook. One day I decided to go in and just sample a bit of what they had: cookies, banana bread, muffins, cupcakes, etc. After getting home and trying the baked goods, my wife and I felt our eyes almost pop out of our head. They were utterly delicious. All of it. Like walking back from the Garden of Eden, if it were populated by trees offering soft, fluffy goodness. Needless to say, we went back. And back. And back. And back. Any excuse was an excuse to buy more of what this shop was offering.
My favorite was the banana bread muffins while my wife loved the cupcakes. We would order tons of baked goods every week and I was a regular there. One day though, I stopped going all together, never showed up again, and I feel very bad about it. The reason why is because my wife and I, being health nuts, stepped on the scale after a few weeks of constant eating and noticed that we had regained all of the pounds we lost during the prior year. We did the only thing we could do, stop cold turkey. It was incredibly tough. Every time we drove by, we would nearly burst into tears wishing we could grab just another box of baked goods. I’m not exaggerating about the tears part. But, deep down, we knew that it would just open Pandora’s Box and we’d find ourselves surprised at the bathroom scale one more time.
Moral of the story: this place is sooooo good that it turned two health and gym nuts into much heavier people because we lacked the control to put down the donuts, muffins, cookies, and cupcakes. This place is the real deal. A+++++. The best bakery not only of the Lehigh Valley but possibly of the US and of...
Read moreI am very sad to start and make this review as my mom, myself and my fiance have been coming here combined for over 5 years. We never had a complaint with Mr Barry. Unfortunately we've slowly seen the decline after the new owners took over. Focusing on our most recent experience for my birthday cake. To start with we order the same cake every year for myself and my mum. It's always very festive with lovely designs, flowers, balloons and of course, delicious. It doesn't make you question the high price tag. This year however was the worst experience we've had. The cake had a plain happy birthday on the top with no design and the sides were covered in obviously stale almonds...which my mum never ordered. Cutting into the cake, they skimped out and did a 2 layer cake, which it's always been 4 layers. Finally the taste was another complete rip off. We always order the Italian rum cake which of course, for the 3rd time in a row (we really did give you guys the benefit of the doubt) it had absolutely no rum flavor, and dry. It wasnt good. There really was no saving grace, it just looked and tasted cheap. It makes you wonder what ingredients they're using as it doesn't taste of high quality like it used too. It feels like money is the motivator not high quality products anymore. No amount of talking up the cake on pick up will help either. You've lost our trust and faith in your company. After years of giving you guys our business we unfortunately will be going elsewhere...
