I drive thru this area a lot and noticed this restaurant was here. Not gonna lie, I was nervous to go here. It’s randomly across from a gas station right off the Ohio Turnpike area. It’s just a random location. But I decided to pop in anyways. It looks like it’s an old fast food restaurant. Definitely a hole in the wall type place.
The man at the register was nice. He check for me about if something had milk in it with the kitchen. He told me it would be about 20-25min wait for all the food I had ordered which was fine.
I was impressed by the menu and the snack and drink items in the place. It’s extremely authentic. I’ve had my fair share of Indian food across the states and I saw some stuff I’ve never heard of before. But, I ordered Samosa, Mango Lassi, Buttered Chicken, Chicken Vindaloo, Lamb Vindaloo, Yellow Lentil Dal, Naan and everything came with rice. I had everything around the mild spice level.
I drove about 50 min before I got to sit and eat but it smelled so good in my car and was still pretty hot when I reached my location. The food was great, chicken was tender, the lamb was a little more tough but still tasty. The rice was seasoned and plenty was given with each order of curry. The samosas weren’t the best I’ve had but were still very yummy with their mint chutney. The other sauce it came with (the red one…can’t remember the name right now), was really liquidy and not thick. Wasn’t very good. Oh and the naan was SO good, I’m so glad I ordered two orders. Also for all the food I got for two people, it lasted us about three days. I paid in total around $90. Was definitely worth it for reheating for a couple days. My house smelled so good.
This is definitely about to be a spot I hit regularly on my drive through this area, conveniently where I always stop to get gas.
I was too hungry to take proper pictures of the food. Will update when I go back. But I also included some photos of the interior. Don’t let the inside discourage you from walking in there, it’s very...
Read moreI was here on my way to new jersey from Chicago. It was 2pm and I was hungry. I was googling and found this place. I went and ordered dal makhana with roti and jeera rice. It was great. This restaurant is out of no where in drought place but the taste is like a real treat. The roti was hot and fresh. Jeera rice wasn’t great, it was just like plain rice with some jeera and corridor but the roti and dal makhani is just so good. We finished our rotis in a one go and ordered some yellow dal with tomato and again roti’s. I tried this time tandoori roti as well. It took a while to get my food both the times, but the taste is amazing. Tandoori roti with yellow dal is just awesome. Tandoori roti is again so fresh and the cripsy well done. I really really loved the dal makani and yellow dal with rotis. The place, restrooms were okay but who cares so much about the place if the food is just amazing. The reason I am saying rotis and dal is amazing because at that place in a non busy area, getting indian food of that taste is great. I also grabbed some indian snacks for my travel from them and were okay too. But the quality and taste of the food impressed me alot. I was dinning in but they packed my orders we have to...
Read moreGetting off the Turnpike and looking for a place to eat, there are not many choices at this exit. Seeing an Indian restaurant out in the middle of nowhere, I had extreme reservations, but I love Indian and went inside. My enthusiasm was lessened even more when I saw all the entrees were dinner portions, traveling I did not want to eat a lot, but beggars can't be choosers so I ordered the vegetable biryani. I was further turned off when the nice gentleman at the counter said it was a 25 minute wait, traveling, I could not wait that long. He pulled some magic and got me my order in 5 minutes! When I started eating it in the car, I was amazed how good it tasted! All the vegetables were very fresh, the medium spice level was spot on and the sauce it comes with was great! It did have a tad too many onions though. Because a lot of their business is travelers, I would suggest smaller lunch portions. I would also suggest phoning ahead for orders in case they can't always speed up the delivery. I am looking forward to stopping again on my next...
