First time eating from there. I had a coworker pass through and offer to stop for me so I said ok. I checked out the Facebook menu and pursed my lips in curiosity at the the California Roll bagel/breakfast sandwich. Now being a huge fan of sushi, I thought the description to be curious as I read through the ingredients. Could this really be a good combination? Ginger, Wasabi Cream Cheese, Avocado, Cucumber? It should be noted they did also put a piece of smoked salmon on it which was not listed in the ingredients and it did come on a bagel of my choice. I would have chosen plain from the list of bagels but that was not an apparent option so I went with Asiago Cheese. I did find this odd, as most bagel places have a plain flavoring for a choice. It arrived as promised after the 20 minute trip from Northwood. It came in a small plain paper bag individually wrapped in sandwich style paper and much to my delight still hot! First impressions on opening the sandwich was the fresh and pleasant smell of the smoked salmon. It was accompanied by a generously portioned stack of the other ingredients on a thick bagel and cut in half. First bite was amazing. You could taste the smoked salmon for sure but it settled down to allow for the spice of the Wasabi Cream cheese to come through which was immediately cooled by the cucumber. Curiously enough that was when the Ginger popped in to cleanse the palate. I found this "curious" because for me, Ginger tends to be an over powering flavor, but not here. It was used perfectly to round up all the other notes together. The bagel was nicely toasted with the outside a tad under crispy leaving the inside to be soft and warm. The Asiago on the bagel was there but so mild it was virtually undetectable. That was no matter because the rest of the notes were what I was going after anyway. The combination of flavors complimented each other perfectly. Now because the Salmon was smoked, I would not say it tasted of a Sushi roll but it was certainly a nice hat tipping. Additionally, if I wanted it to be a carbon copy of a sushi roll I would have gone to a place that sold sushi. This was what I would call California Sushi Roll themed and themed perfectly in my opinion. I was left feeling full and no major residual aftertaste remained like sometimes Salmon can do. At $7.99 for the sandwich, I think it was perfectly priced for the type of ingredients and the portions. I would order this again but I would suggest a slight change to the menu indicating the presence of the Salmon in case someone didn't like it or had some sort of allergy. Second small suggestion would be to add a plain bagel to the arsenal or if they already do, add it to the Facebook...
Read moreDriving by for the first time. I noticed this bagel place. My wife wanted a bagel so we did our errand. On way back The line was out the door of this small business. Signs says bagels and more. Key word more, Steak salmon, egg, muffins scones, cinnamon rolls and even more. Vegan options as well. I love finding these holes in wall places. But man this place was busy. But they pumped out orders faster than most fast food places. We had to try multiple things. Chocolate croissant, shaved steak and fried egg on French bread, couple different bagels, cream cheese and vegan cream cheese. Everything was amazing. Taste the freshness, taste the passion. It was such an amazing experience. We heard others raving about the coffee. (not coffee drinkers but I wouldn't doubt it). Plus the price wasn't crazy either. It was 21 bucks for everything and it was filling and tasty. If you want a home made breakfast sandwich or pretty much anything in that realm I highly recommend this place. They have a few tables inside to eat and few outside. Mainly people grab and go or eat in cars. Even if the line is out the door still stop in. You won't regret it. This place is amazing. Wish it was closer to us. About 40min and I still will make an excuse to come...
Read moreSome of the best bagels I've ever had. Bought a dozen for a group of 6 adults and 5 children and it lasted 2 breakfasts. We had the Garlic, Everything, Plain, Cinnamon Raisin & Jalapeno Cheddar Bagels with the Plain, Vegetable and Jalapeno Sriracha cream cheese spreads. The line was out the door but it was worth the wait!!! If I had any feedback to give it would be to keep up the great work and maybe invest in online ordering/pre-order for pickups to reduce the wait times and long lines. Will be going back here again next year during our camping...
