My family and I tried Teddy's again tonight. Our experience tonight was more in line with previous experiences if not better. The food was incredible. My wife had the lasagna, which she loved, but couldn't finish. I had the italian creole pasta, which was one of the reasons my wife didn't finish her meal. It was so good she kept picking of my plate. My 8 year old, a very very picky eater said "we can only come her for pizza. Nowhere else". The server, Francesca, was great. Extremely attentive and incredibly polite.
The food and service were great. This is a go to restaurant when my family I go out to eat. Easily the best Italian restaurant in town and a top 3 restaurant over all
Before I write this review I would first like to say that every other meal I have had here was either good or fantastic.
I ordered two appetizers with my meal. I watched 3 other tables walk in after my wife and I. All 3 tables received their appetizers before us. One table received there meal before our appitizers arrived. My wife asked the waitress about out appitizers. Her response was "they are ready i just have to bring them out". The Canaloni was good, the Italian sausage was really good. The salad was OK but that's more of a personal preference on ranch dressing. Then we reciaved our meals. I had the shrimp scampi. The shrimp was over cooked and dry. It did have seasoning on it. That was the only part of the meal that was seasoned. The pasta was very dry on top. I mixed it with all the oil on the bottom of the plate. That just made it slightly less dry but still bland. The bread was great though. My wife had the Asiago Alfredo. Her meal was also very dry on top. She had to mix hers as well and that didn't help much. She didn't care for the alfredo sauce but again that is a personal preference on sauces.
The waitress never asked us about refills.or.how our meal was. She did ask if we needed any thing else when she brought out the meals. As a business owner there are certain things I would expect. Such as letting us know that one of our appitizers takes longer to prepare and asking if we would like the other one while we wait. There over all impression I got was that our food was all prepared at the same time and then left under heat lamps for an extended period of time.
In the past I have received very good food with excellent service. I will probably try again in the future however it will no longer be one my...
Read moreWe had a group of 10, and we got drinks right away. We ordered food at 7:30pm and waited an hour for very disappointing meals. I got tortellini, which tasted like it was frozen and heated with jarred Alfredo sauce. Food was not very hot. I added 4oz of boneless skinless chicken to my dish, the waitress didn't know how much it was to add chicken but when the bill came, the chicken was an extra $9 for a total $27 for my sub-par meal. However, the chicken was the best part of my food. I would rate Olive Garden food better than what our table was served last night. My friend ordered a half of an Italian salad but got a very small side salad for $10 and also had to wait the longest as they forgot about bringing it out. She walked out of the restaurant without eating. She wasn't going to pay $10 for a sad side salad....so disappointing. The breadsticks were good but we had to ask for enough for everyone at the table to get one. It would have been nice to have a breadstick during the hour wait for the food. When we were ordering, I told the waitress that two of us were on one bill but she said, it will be easy to split later. However, it took our waitress about 45 minutes to split the bill & she did it incorrectly. Two people with no alcohol, the bill was $74 which included 20% gratuity and a credit card convenience fee which was removed if bill was paid with cash. By the way, my boyfriend had an Italian sub with chips, no way our bill should have been $74. The sub was equal to 6 inch Subway. I was so disappointed with the food & and service, and I was really looking forward to my first Teddy Spaghetti experience. We...
Read moreUPDATE...I am super disappointed!!! We have been coming here for years. They catered our wedding in 2004. It took over an hour and half for them to finally bring out our food all the while everyone else was receiving their dinners, including several tables that came in after us. No manager ever came out to apologize. We had to bring our concerns to them and still no explanation or apology from management. Our waitress blamed it on the kitchen but that was after we had been waiting 1.5 hours yet other tables were getting their food. In my opinion in was something else. We were the only people of color dining.
We have history with this awesome place. Teddy catered our wedding in 2004. That was my first time enjoying his cooking. Now everytime I come back to Muskegon, my wife and I make a stop into Teddy's. I love that it id a small dining area. It feels like your are in your grandmothers kitchen. The service is always friendly and inviting. The food is the best. My wife loves the cheese ravioli and enjoy the Creole pasta! I highly recommend this place but if you have a large party arrive early or call ahead to see how...
