We went a few weeks ago, waitress brought bread, no menues, drinks, no menues, I finally spoke up and asked for one. My food came out cold, sent it back Last night went with a friend, Asked for a Shirley Temple, didn't have much fizz or grenadine. Asked for more, barman seemed annoyed by that. Came back, still sucked. My friend asked if she could sample a beer on tap, same barman seemed annoyed by that. Then wanted the prime rib, was told it is only being served medium well! Yuck so I ordered the Turkey dinner, that was good. My friend ordered The Chicken parm. She said, chicken and pasta was extremely dry and the sauce looked glazed over. She didn't want to complain, but I did for her, the manager, who was very friendly and professional, took it off the tab. The bar area was freezing and hardly any customers. Especially at the bar. The older bar man looked unkempt and not a barman that would attract anyone to want to drink there. They both acted as if we were just a number and not even trying to get a good tip. For many years we have loved their breakfast buffet, I think they did away with that, we have had many functions there and family get togethers, that was when it was awesome. Even in the stall I went into, in the bathroom, the toilet roll holder, was hanging off the wall... Met some waitstaff and hosts in the bathroom, they were very sweet and friendly and were overhearing me and my friend joke about everything that was wrong with our experience. U gotta have a sense of humor in these things. So there was NO TIP, left for the bar man by either of us. Neither was friendly, and the place was dead...no wonder My parents taught me many moons ago that you "earn what you get" He didn't earn anything! So never going back, I took a break for a bit and tryed it again, still not what it used to be. 😡

Read moreI had made reservations for my wife's birthday.
Originally we had 4 people but we added a 5th person to the party. I went online to make the change and received a confirmation. When we got to the restaurant, they did not have the correct reservation, they still had a party of 4. They said that the changes done online were not reflected on their system. We finally got our new table.
When we got our new table, the waitress took our orders, We waited 10 minutes for knives to be delivered to the table. I guess recently they changed their menu as the grilled shrimp I always order was no longer available. The waitress came back and informed me of this; that is fine. BUT her patience level for me wanting to order something else was very short as the people at the table could see she was not happy with me.
I had called the restaurant that afternoon to order a birthday cake for us. When it came to dessert, some people ordered coffee and she was ready to give us the bill. I asked where was the birthday cake I ordered for my wife; the waitress had no idea and she said to me, please calm down. I did not do anything to deserve that comment. We called the manager over who told us since we moved tables (they moved us because of their screw-up, not ours), the cake was in the building and they would find it. We finally got the birthday cake, which was very good. They also did not charge us for the cake either which was the right thing to do.
This was our first BAD experience with the Chateau but unfortunately, one that was supposed to be a celebratory night.
Lessons learned- if you need to change reservations, do it on the phone and not online.
Would I go back there...
Read moreFirst off, the Chateau is our favorite place to eat, but we have had a couple of not so great experiences with trying to get a table. For Mothers day we made reservations for a table not a booth seat. We were told that all tables were reserved for bigger parties. We had 3 in our group, then we were rudely seated at a huge table (round seats 6) in a corner. Hard to enjoy dinner through tears. Last night (6/4/22) we arrived at 4:30 pm and could clearly see empty tables but was told only booths were available due to graduation reservations. My family are big people and can not sit comfortably in booths it really doesn't take much to accommodate us. Very upset about this. We sat in your parking lot, that was half empty and called LaFamilia Restaurant in Taunton and even though they had graduation parties they were able to accommodate us. The food wasn't as good as Chateau but your loss is their gain. We have been dining at the Chateau for years but not if we will be treated like that. The best waitstaff you have there in our opinion is Maria, Ranie, and Dawn. The service we receive from them makes the difference in our experience, very welcoming and friendly. Please do better with accommodating people, every customer counts not just the huge tipping tables. As a former restaurant manager I see a loss of sale on the $150 we spent at the other restaurant. Your Hostess staff needs some...
