The Flamingo Lounge — Restaurant in Norwalk

We have been there 3 times. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is fun which is why we keep going. The service however, needs work. The past two times we were seated outside. The first time we waited 20 minutes before my husband went inside to order our drinks then we were finally served. They were not that busy and there were two waiters working the patio that just ignored us. Last night the same thing happened. 20 minutes then my husband went inside to order drinks again. The waiter apologized and said it wasn't his turn to take a new table. If they would do assigned sections rather than every other table it might help. This place is SO GOOD! The menu is limited, but I was told it's because they're slowly rolling out other items in the coming weeks. I get overwhelemed eith too many choices on a menu anyway. I had the Italian panini and it was surprisingly DELICIOUS. Usually sandwiches with those types of Italian meats can be on the salty side, but it was SO good. The portions are generous (I have a WHOLE other meal left over!). I recommend you buy the two desserts on the menu—they're made from scratch, and heavenly. A great new addition to the Des Moines dining scene! This restaurant impresses with its beautifully decorated interior and a cool, unique ambiance, complemented by comfortable seating. There's nothing comparable in the metro! We ordered several cocktails, and each was well executed. For our main courses, we ordered four different entrees, and every one was a hit. Despite its recent opening, the staff was professional and efficient. Highly recommend...
