Walking up to the bright green and white "Avocado" food truck, the delicious aromas of Venezuelan cuisine immediately greet you. Located in the heart of the city, this vibrant food truck serves up an array of traditional dishes with a modern twist, making it a must-visit spot for both locals and tourists.
One of the standout dishes is the "Pabellón Criollo", a beautifully composed plate featuring shredded beef, black beans, fried plantains, and a perfect scoop of rice, all topped with a slice of creamy avocado. Each bite is a delightful exploration of flavors and textures, showcasing the freshness and authenticity of the ingredients.
Another popular choice is their array of arepas, with the "Reina Pepiada" taking the crown. Stuffed with a hearty mix of chicken salad and avocado, the arepa is cooked to golden perfection, offering a crisp exterior and a soft, flavorful interior.
The service at Avocado is as warm and inviting as the food. The staff goes out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and is more than happy to explain the dishes and offer recommendations.
Overall, "Avocado" delivers a delicious and genuine taste of Venezuelan culinary tradition, with each dish reflecting the passion and dedication of its creators. Read moreThe food at this place looks great, but I have no way of knowing. Ordered pick up, but when I got there my food had not been made. Nobody on staff there spoke english, which made resolving it difficult. Through Google translate, they claimed a Doordasher took my food. After 30 minutes of standing outside the truck in below freezing temperatures while they wouldn’t simply refund me my money and were stuck on the phone with the Doordash help line, I gave up and left. I will be executing a charge back on my card. Disappointing because it looks good, but they clearly don’t have the operation together.
EDIT: The owner at least did circle back with me through text and Zelle’d me my money back, so credit where credit is due. I did not have to execute a charge back. But that was still probably the most miserable/frustrating customer service experience...
Read moreThis truck was recommended by a Venuzuelan waiter at another restaurant.
I ordered the picahna bowl, my mom and sister ordered shredded chicken arepas, and my dad and brother got chicken bowls.
The food took a little while to come out (around 30 minutes for the 5 of us).
The picahna bowl was very satiating and tasty. It had picahna as a meat and some corn flour bread with cheese with it. I also enjoyed the spicy chimichurri.
The chicken bowl also seemed good.
The arepas were only $6 each and both my mother and sister could hardly finish it because it was filling.
The staff gave us a baked good that had cheese and guava in it, it was also good.
Overall, I think the bowls are relatively expensive, but the rest of the menu is completely worth the price. If you want to try something new, check...
