August The Mansion — Restaurant in O'Fallon

We have a once a month dinner club. So for September our choice was August the Mansion. We highly recommend this place. They knocked it out if the park. We had several mixed strings in aurora, extremely well, prepared and tasted really good.Especially the old fashioned. This is our go to drink and this was one of the better ones we've ever had. For starters we had the wipped bri wuth focaccia bread and it was phenomenon. We could have made a meal of that alone. Next was the salads. We had the mansion and the berry salad. Both were extremely good. For the main course we had the salmon, ravioli, rigitoni and Shrimp and grits. ALL we very well done and flavorful. The salmon was beautiful and a work of art. And the sundried tomatoes on the ravioli were phenomenal. Next, we moved on to dessert. We had the banana cream pie cheesecake and the bread pudding with lavender ice cream. Again, both desserts were very well made and really yummy. The service was outstanding. The girls took really good care of us. They were constantly at the table checking on us. The only thing we can say is that everything came out a little fast. We would have liked a little more time to enjoy each course and converse. But we were one of the first people there at opening. Overall, we really think they knocked it out of the park, and we look forward to coming back. We highly recommend trying !August...

If you are a person of color, they absolutely don’t want your money. We were facing a deadline for planning my daughter’s sweet 16. Money was no object as we were willing to pay to rent out the entire mansion. They told us 10k, no problem! We asked them to send the contract over, two days goes by, the event planner stopped answering texts and calls and eventually my parents had to “pop up” to see what the issue was. “It may not work for us” why?? “ The owners live in Canada” “we need to get their approval” You could’ve told us that initially if that were true. You could’ve asked them when you agreed to do it. Why did you take us through all of the menu planning, mocktail building and table placement???Why did you request pictures of our “vision” Huh?? What happened was, you saw a black family who wanted to have a party, you started at 6500 and kept going up and we agreed every time to pay when you know that you don’t make that much money on any single night. Be serious!!!! When you realized you couldn’t push us away with your price, you had to find another excuse. Black people have money too!!! I’m sorry that makes you feel uncomfortable. I hardly call this place fine dinning. First off the 2 things that are always on the menu they were out. Mojo and the steak. I mean isn't this a stake house. We got the fries as an appetizer and they were hot at first but becausethey are so thin they got cold really fast. . That was a waste of $8. They dont even offer a bread basket. We got the chicken dish and it took 30minutes and the place wasn't that busy. They did apologize said they had a big order, but we made a reservation too. And making ppl wait even longer for a bill. They waitress did comp the 1 dessert because of our long wait, but I think they still charge u if u want a birthday dessert. Definitely needs work i don't think I will try it again especially for...
