Usually Drakes is a great place for food and drinks. They have a lot of great food and usually are very good about service. Usually food does not take too long to come out and staff are very friendly and hospitable most of the time. However, after my most recent visit (I walked out of the restaurant 5 minutes ago) was, pretty bad. To say the least.
So my friends and I totaled to a 7 person party. As we walked up to the hostess (I didn’t catch her name, she was a short black girl with glasses) told us that our table was being cleaned off. Then she kinda just looked at us awkwardly. It took her like two or three minutes to tell us we could wait to the side while she sat other people. In hindsight, maybe that was a “duh” kind of situation, but I’m just thinking that she could’ve verbalized where we could wait BEFORE we stood there looking dumb for three minutes.
But then we got seated a few minutes later. Our server was Kaley W. The entire time she served us, she treated us like we were one big inconvenience for her. Our group was actually fairly unproblematic. We sent none of our food back nor had any complaints. During the meal, one of my friends asked for napkins and Kaley W. got a big attitude about it. She rolled her eyes and shook her head everytime she walked away.
At the end of the meal, she put all the food on one ticket. We asked her to split the tickets and she walked away too quickly for us to tell her we needed military discounts. The same thing happened when she brought the new tickets back. Then, when we asked her for the military discount, she aggressively snatched every ticket off the table, crumpled them up and stomped away. When she brought the new tickets back, we took them to the bar to pay. We didn’t want to inconvenience her further than we already had, apparently.
The lady at the bar who took our tickets was very friendly and apologetic, so props to her. But Haley W. made our dining experience overall very negative. I’m not sure if she was having a bad day or if the pressure of a busy Saturday afternoon was getting to her or what. I would like to express some sympathy toward her but she made that very difficult for me to do. Hopefully she has a better day tomorrow. I believe one of my friends spoke to the manager about this situation but I didn’t stick around to see what that led to.
Like I said before. I really enjoy going to Drake’s. The food is great and I love the environment as well as the friendliness toward military (generous military discount as well as several military/veteran parking spots.)Today’s incident however was just very...
Read moreWe have tried Drakes a few times now and find it inconsistent in both food quality and service practices along with it being overpriced. Our latest experience was Thursday 10/28/2021 and was extremely disappointed on all levels of our restaurant experience. We always frequent the bar and was the only customers sitting at the bar our initial service provider seemed to be doing both bartending and serving booths she did acknowledge our presence and was quick to get our choice of drink and a few minutes later placed our order. Apparently we were there at the time of an afternoon shift change and within 5 minutes we were subjected to many of the oncoming servers and bartenders as to what had happened on the days off as they visited among themselves as if we were sitting in the team members break room. Now we have 2- new bartenders behind the bar with zero acknowledgement of our presence mind you we are still the only customers at the bar, and there personal lives conversations continue among themselves. Food is delivered after a lengthy time in which all was cold to the touch with the exception of chili which was Luke warm. As we looked to the bartenders to let them know of our dissatisfaction we were visually ignored. Not one including 2- red shirt managers one of which was among the sitting and visiting never touching tables or bar customers. The other was running around putting out fires it seemed. Not one Drake’s team member asked how is or was everything. After paying and intending to touch base with a manager due to our disappointment waiting at the host podium which was not attended, and after five minutes of being ignored by a number of team members, we decided to express our dissatisfaction in...
Read moreI ordered a head online and at the end of your order it asks you what kind of vehicle do you have and the color. It said it would be ready in 20 minutes, I got there after 25 minutes and parked in one of the carryout spots. When you get to the actual carryout spots there's a sign with a number to text your last name and your parking spot number. Once I sent the text I was expecting some kind of immediate kickback saying "we're working on your order," or something. I got nothing from them via text. And then I waited for a total of 38 minutes from the time that I ordered and I hadn't heard anything so I went inside. Within a minute of being inside I was asked why I was there and and then within another few minutes I had my order. I guess I'm just bothered that the whole online experience was kind of weird. It made sense that when I ordered online, it wanted to know what kind of vehicle I had and then I had to park in a spot and verify my last name too. I knew something was wrong once I sent that text that I was there, and didn't get a response. I've since picked up the food obviously and already ate it and I still never received any kind of text from the company at all. What the hell was the point in texting that number that I had arrived and giving my name and parking space? And don't tell me that they were busy because when I walked in there were at least three or four girls behind the bar talking and maybe 8 to 10 customers in the entire building. I'm at faulting any of the employees I'm just not understanding what the point of telling you what vehicle I have and then later texting you where I'm parked if none of that matters because I have to go...
