This evening we called to place a delivery order after looking at the menu online. I called the restaurant and said I had just seen the weekend special for $30 online but didn’t see an option to order it. The employee said he can place the order for me. At first he said our total was 34.xx. Then when it was time to give the credit card number he said the charge was 42.xx. I asked what was the extra charge for? He wasn’t able to tell me. He repeatedly says that there are “extra charges and delivery fees and tax” I said I was fine with that but what was the charges, I thought the pizza was $30? He did yes it was. So I asked 4-5 more times how the price went from $34 to $42? He finally said in their system the special rings as $35. He then says he’s a “minimum wage employee” and doesn’t control the prices. I said yes I understand, so if he can’t answer without me asking 5 times what the cost is, is there a manager that can? He places me on hold and a manager answers. I started to explain my question and was cut off with “I can explain it to you” He then explains that the online prices are not accurate and he has no way to update them. The menu is outsourced and they won’t tell the restaurant how to update the prices. He said “there’s nothing I can do if they won’t tell me how to update it” My advice was to not update their store system with no access to change the website. He was indifferent to the whole situation. No apology, no solution, no an offer to honor the prices. I said we would cancel our order then. The manager said “ok” .. For me, it was the attempt to be dishonest and the indifferent...
Read moreGiving 5 stars because the pizza was so good! Although this place welcomes children, there is no kids menu or coloring pages etc to entertain them so if you are dining with kids be sure to bring your own (my first mistake). Our waitress was very nice and cleaned up a spill from my 4 year old that I felt really bad about. Once the place started getting busy though I think the kitchen got overwhelmed. My kids chicken wings came out way before I got my pizza, and at the time I got my meal (my second mistake) I put in a to-go order to bring to my husband and it took forever to come out. The waitress checked on it three times. She looked like one of two waitresses for the whole place where every table was full, but she handled it well. I felt bad for her since I've waited tables before and know what that's like. But the FOOD! That's where you get 5 stars. The personal pizzas are a great size. They taste amazing and are packed with fresh ingredients. The chicken wings had a very good flavor as well and my husband loved the buffalo chicken sandwich. They also look like they have a ton of different beer selections but I didn't give them a try as I had the kids. We just moved to the area but I know we will definitely be ordering here again, although we will be...
Read moreOrdered two delivery pizzas from Gia's in O'Fallon. The first time, 6 months ago, I was ignorant to their standard pizza which comes with sugared pizza sauce, which they call their "signature sauce". Nobody informed me of this signature sauce, so I ended up with an unedible pizza with repulsive sugar sauce. After phoning them immediately, they sent over a regular sauced pizza and told me to throw the other one out. I did. Today I ordered for the second time, having forgotten about the first (replacement) pizza. I did make sure to stress NO SUGAR SAUCE to the phone order taker. For a 16" meat pizza, it was $22.99, around there. I gave the delivery person a $3 tip. We opened the box to see a measly, sickly looking pizza with a crust so inconsequential, insubstantial it was thinner than my fingernails. Almost totally lacking in cheese, and being "cool", almost "cold" and bearing a bitter tasting sauce, I have just finished kicking myself for going with Gia's Pizza again. Summing up, it is a gross waste of money. ...
