KC Hall & Event Center — Restaurant in O'Fallon

I was so incredibly disappointed by the KC Hall's fish fry during the 2024 Lenten season. I honestly have not had a worse experience with a fish fry. We paid over $20 per fish plate for a measly two pieces of flavorless battered cod, and two sides- more than $60 for a family of three on a Friday afternoon. The fried shrimp was also bland. My husband literally ran to the bathroom to throw up after eating the first few bites of fish. The detail that surprises me most is that the Beast has partnered with the hall to put on the fish fry. The Beast's food is incredible (at their home location), but their fish was awful. I was astonished.

I used to get takeout from here with my grandparents during the Lenten season from 2011-2015 or so and loved it. The portions were greater, flavor was better, and prices lower. I don't know why they veered in the direction they did. I...

I was nervous about going in because of my color. However, I was welcomed. They immediately asked, Are you here for the fish? My reply, Yes. The gentleman at the bar directed me. The area was open. I was just treated like everyone else. Once my order was done, my order was given to me with a smile. I truly appreciated it. We enjoyed the food. I will return....
