I went to Le Ono with my mother on a weekday. It wasn't crowded, had a wonderful ambiance, and excellent and friendly service. The people at Le Ono really put effort into making their customers feel welcome and excited for what is meant to be an "experience." If your goal of a restaurant experience relies mainly on its environment and mood, I would recommend Le Ono for a one-time visit. However, since this is a high-priced restaurant, especially in consideration of the area it was opened in, I'm not sure I can defend the charge of everything we ate. The food was good, perfectly fine. I had a delicious cocktail, which I think is a highlight of the restaurant if you just want to sit in and drink. My mother was very happy with her LongStory coffee that our waitress kept topped off. We split the Lobster Rangoon and the Chicken and Waffles. The Rangoon was good, a satisfactory pastry with a filling of creamy lobster and vegetables. The Chicken and Waffles were tasty, coming with two juicy breasts and four ube waffles. We also split a Key Lime Tart for dessert which outdid both the appetizer and the entree. Nonetheless, the last compliment doesn’t carry much weight in terms of praise. Despite every dishes’ positive qualities, we had nothing that stood out as spectacular enough to ignore the price tag. In simpler terms, since we had the full "Le Ono Experience" trying a drink, appetizer, entree, and dessert: this place simply isn't worth it. Maybe for a one-time night out. I mean, there are certainly very few restaurants in O'Fallon where you'll walk out having spent as much as you do at Le Ono, so that is likely a draw for many people. But this confuses me. Considering the quality of the food, which is again, fine, good, but nothing that makes me buckle at the knees, why are the prices double than what they should be? This is especially bewildering when there are no complimentary touches (like bread or amuse-bouches) nor are the portions excusable for the price. I also doubt that the cost of any of the meals, and certainly not the cocktails, mine costing 14 dollars, would have been even close to the charge of making each item. Maybe I'm uncultured. What do I know? You're meant to be paying for the atmosphere, not the food, I'm sure. And if you’re thrifty, I hear they have a happy hour, as the owner has advertised to customers who have complained about the high prices. Maybe I'll come back for such an occasion, to ponder my thoughts on Le Ono, its convivial atmosphere, and adequate dishes.
TLDR; Vibe over substance. You pay for the ability to spend....
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Le Ono Restaurant, and I must say our experience was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we arrived, the inviting atmosphere set the tone for an exceptional evening.
We started our meal with the lobster rangoon, which was a delightful twist on a beloved classic. The crispy exterior paired perfectly with the rich, flavorful filling, making it an appetizer that should not be missed. Following that, we enjoyed the pickled mango and beet salad, a vibrant medley of flavors and textures. The sweetness of the mango harmonized beautifully with the earthiness of the beets, creating a refreshing and light start to our meal.
For our main courses, we chose the ribeye and the snapper. The ribeye was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and bursting with rich flavor that left us wanting more. The mahi-mahi was just as impressive, showcasing the chef's skill through its delicate preparation and exquisite seasoning. Each bite was a testament to the quality of the ingredients and the artistry behind these dishes.
Our server, Steven, truly enhanced our dining experience. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu, offering excellent recommendations that elevated our meal. His friendly demeanor made us feel welcome and well cared for throughout the evening.

This gem had been on my must-try list forever, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. A friend treated me to a celebration dinner here, and every single bite and sip was a standout. Bonus: they just dropped a new menu, and it’s worth raving about.
🍹 Cocktails to start: I began with the Dancing on Jupiter—a silky milk-washed cocktail with bold, rich flavor. My friend opted for a classic Manhattan, which bourbon lovers will truly appreciate.
🥢 Appetizer: We shared the Beef Bourguignon Bao, and it melted in my mouth. Savory, tender, and packed with flavor—an instant favorite.
🍸 Second round of cocktails: • Sands of Arrakis – layered, complex, and totally intriguing • Don’t Take Me for Pomegranate – fruity, smoky, and perfectly balanced
🍽 Entrées: • Petite Filet – flawlessly seared and bursting with flavor, easily one of the best I’ve had • Duck Confit Salad – the duck with chutney-like beets was a flavor combo I didn’t know I needed
🍩 Dessert: We finished with the Woods Bakery Donut Bread Pudding—no chocolate this time, and zero regrets. It was indulgent, warm, and divine.
From the inventive cocktails to the chef-driven dishes and beautifully curated atmosphere, Le Ono impressed on every level. Can’t wait to go back and try more!
