Employed by the sweetest staff who are accommodating & always ready to offer a smile. They have great gluten free options on their menus & have the best gluten free desserts! The GF biscuit with their jam is so yummy & don't get me started on how mouth watering their GF quiches & bread for sandwiches are!! A lavender latte always hits the spot & during lunch a smoothie is always refreshing! I have purchased lots of regular cupcakes/treats for friends/coworkers & they too rave about how delicious their desserts are! It's my favorite to surprise my friend with a chocolate cupcake or vanilla latte! I have also recently used SKB for catering services or last minute Vegan orders for my place of work. The baker, Miss Annie, personally came out to speak with me & help with Vegan ideas that I needed for a youth at my place of work. She happens to be someone I went to high school with so it was a bit nostalgic & I was so happy to see her thriving & enjoying her job. When I needed to inquire about a large cupcake order for both of the locations I work at, one of the owners sat down with & answered all my questions professionally & quickly. She remembers my name when I come in & makes me feel comfortable & welcomed. They always go above & beyond my expectations every time!! The staff is thoughtful & full of wonderful ideas to make the items special. SKB is the place to go for a cozy, comfortable, warm, & welcoming environment. The owners are genuine & are visible to both their staff & customers always working hard! It's rare to see owners working as hard as their staff & I personally find it wonderful! We waited 30 minutes for room temperature food. There were employee's standing around and approximately 15 customers in/ outside the restaurant seated when we ordered. It was very simple menu items that any person could make within 15-20 minutes. By now our two small children are becoming impatient bc they are done with their breakfast. At the 30 minute mark, my husband asked the cashier if our food was ready. She went in back and then said they were finishing it up. When the food arrived, it was room temperature and the eggs were over cooked. Very disappointing since we have been here before with no issues. After eating, my husband went to the cashier and asked to speak with the manager. A older woman came out from the back to talk. My husband calmly and politely explained that we waited for 30 minutes for our food and it was room temperature. She stated that this was not a fast food restaurant and things take time. She acted as if he was stupid and had no clue to what kind of place this was. She was rude. He told her that her staff who was just standing around should be paying attention to the customers, hence they would have noticed we had been there for a long time without food and the number stand still at our table. Also we have been to many different restaurants with very complexed menu items and didn't wait this long for mediocre food. She did not offer a discount, refund or an apology. The owner’s husband was super nice. The bakery is small & when busy gets crowded quick. I was very excited to try the GF Biscuit Breakfast sandwich & I was really disappointed. The half of my sandwich that had cheese & bacon was burned & so hard it was inedible so I only eat the other half of the sandwich with biscuit & egg. This definitely should have been caught & not served this way. The breakfast potatoes were really good. The caramel apple cider was absolutely delicious as was the caramel latte. I had planned to try the GF cinnamon rolls but they were sold out. They didn’t have as much GF bakery items as advertised/expected. My daughter got a non GF Blueberry muffin & she barely eat it because it was super dry. My son loved his non GF cinnamon roll but it was not the gooey soft cinnamon roll you would expect, it also looked dry. My husband had the biscuits & gravy which he said was decent. My Dad had the creme brule french toast which he said was very good. Overall it was a hit & miss depending on what you order. I’d consider giving them another chance on a weekday.
