I VERY RARELY ever leave a negative review. I had never had a bad experience at TR before, until Tonight. The service was horrible, and my steak was completely overdone.
It first started with the appetizer of the Cactus Blossom. I'm allergic to horseradish, so I asked for some ranch on the side. When the appetizer came out, she even said "I will be right back with that ranch". She just disappeared after that.
The appetizer was out for a while...to the point my boyfriend and my niece had already at more than 1/2 of the appetizer. Our waitress never brought my ranch until after we already had our salads...which was about a 20 minute time frame. By then, the appetizer was cold, and half of my meal was already at the table.
When our food came out, I had ordered my 14oz Ribeye medium. It came out well done on all the outside edges, and the inside was medium well at best. It was also tough to cut. I couldn't eat it...plus, I'm not paying $25 for a steak that is not what I ordered.
Our waitress didn't come back for at least 10 minutes to see how our steaks were. At that point I told her that my steak was overcooked and showed her. She said she would bring a new steak out for me.
She did bring another steak, but by that time, everyone at the table was done eating, and I never even got a bite of steak yet. I ended up getting my meal to go, because I wasn't going to make everyone else wait for me. Plus I was upset enough by that point, that I lost my appetite.
When the waitress came out with my steak in a to go container, a male came out with her, he never identified himself, so i dont know if he was a manager, or who he was, and he was carrying the steak. All he said was "your steak was overcooked?" I said yes it was, and showed him 3 pieces that I had initially cut off the steak. He said "well thus one should be better".
Overall, they did make it right by bringing me another steak...I haven't tried it yet, but it looks alot juicier than the 1st steak. I wasn't trying to get a free meal or anything like that, because they did make things right, and had a new steak cooked for me.
It was just the fact that we went out to dinner to eat dinner there. If I wanted it to go, I would have just ordered curbside to go. I wanted to eat a meal with my family.
On a more positive note...the salad and potato I got was good, and the other people I was with said their food was cooked to perfection. I dont know if I was accidentally given someone else's steak or what happened. I've eaten here well over 75 times since they opened their doors, and this was my 1st bad experience.

This place is always delicious! They have the best sweet potatoes around. I also love their house salad that you can choose as a side. Their ribs seriously fall off the bone. Steaks are very flavorful and cooked to perfection. They also have amazing warm rolls with honey cinnamon butter when you are first seated.
They are the best steaks around for the price point. We went last night, and I had the rolls, salad, sweet potato, and the combo of the 10 ounce Ribeye and ribs (I think 5 ribs) and it was around $25. That's menu price.
You definitely want to call ahead or use their app, because there is usually an hour or more wait.

Read moreI have always loved Texas Roadhouse because I always know the food is going to be good. Today, I added the sidekick of ribs and it wasn't worth it at all, dried out with little meat on the bones but alas...this happens and is a small thing. Two things that did bother me and make me wonder if TR is slipping. One, the ceiling is completely caked with dust, to the point it is very noticeable and you can't believe they have let it get that bad. Theirs is an open ceiling with beams and such and it's all just caked in furry dust. Secondly, one of their servers was refilling the black napkin silverware things and she essentially dumps the tub in such a way to do it all at once and ends up dropping 6 or 7 to the floor. She picks them up, straightens up a few of them and then puts them on top of the holder. She then looks around and then quickly puts them in with the rest. I hate to think I could be eating and wiping my mouth with something that was possibly on the floor. I remember when we were leaving, I waited for a good minute at the hostess station for my wife to catch up with my daughter. Three women there and not one said anything to me like "how was everything" or "have a good day". I looked at each of them purposely trying to decide if I was going to share my thoughts from above but they just ignored me and so I figured what is the point in sharing, they didn't seem to care. The main food was great and the server we had was excellent but it is hard not to wonder if things are going downhill with respect to...
Read moreOn March 18th, at around 9:05 PM, my family and I entered Texas Roadhouse in O’Fallon/Shiloh Illinois, with the intention of enjoying a meal together. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the first hostess, to whom we mentioned that our party consisted of three members. Just as we were about to be escorted to our table, a second hostess approached, inquiring about the size of our group. After we reiterated that there were three of us, including two adults and one child, she informed us that there would be a delay. Observing several empty tables around, I overheard the second hostess explaining to the first that seating us immediately might upset the serving staff, leading us to wait, despite the visible availability of tables.
As time passed, a couple entered the establishment roughly 10-15 minutes after us and, after a brief wait of about five minutes, approached the hostess to question the availability of tables. They were promptly seated. This prompted me to address the hostess, highlighting our prior arrival and the unfair treatment, before deciding to leave the restaurant. This experience left a sour taste, as I found myself in the uncomfortable position of explaining to my child why we were seemingly refused service without a clear reason. While I have resolved not to patronize this establishment again, I believe it is important for the general manager to be aware of this incident, underscoring the need for better customer service and the potential impact of such experiences on the...
