Harvard Tavern — Restaurant in Oakfield Township

Edited: Was 5 star...Herd rumor that they had good food and good people. Harvard Tavern did not disappoint. Steve was excellent ! Had the broasted chicken with loaded baked. Excellent !! Would highly recommend ! Even the corn in the little cup tasted like fresh sweet corn ?? Will definitely be coming back. Well worth the out of the way trip.....Fast forward 3 weeks later. Made the out of my way trip to go have the broasted again. The chicken (not the skin)was like leather. And the skin hard as a rock. Even the corn was horrible. Tiny little, no taste cafeteria corn. The chicken was so dry not a drop of moisture in it. I figured it had to be deep fried.That the broaster was down?After asking the bartender if the broaster wasn't working. I was shot a glare and told I don't know. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed. My whole ride home all I could think of was #1 glad I didn't bring a bunch a people to have this broasted I have been saying is so good. And #2 how can it go 180° like that. I think staff is the answer. Last time I was there it was noon ,not 730 pm. Whole different crew in the front and back. I herd other patrons say there burger was good. So I would say 50/50 shot at some great food...

Giving them one star only because we didn’t get food poisoning. After waiting 40 minutes, we finally sought out a different waitress to place our order. 30 minutes AFTER the alternate waitress took our order (she was great), our assigned waitress showed back up. Had we waited for her to remember us, we would have waited 1 hour and 10 minutes to get served. As for the food, the burritos were good but the grilled ham and cheese had ham and cheese but it wasn’t grilled. We had to ask for water four times before receiving any. After the fourth time asking, the waitress literally slammed down the waters on our table and walked away. I’d like to say our experience got better but...we waited 30 minutes to receive our bill. Went to bartender two times until we finally received it. Hopefully management takes this review of this particular waitress and makes some changes otherwise someone with less integrity would have skipped out on paying. Not very good, they need a cook that knows how to cook a steak it's pretty good when you order it medium rare and it comes out pretty much Raw yet. Send it back and it comes out not much better than the first time it was still pretty much Raw. Our waitress was Missy and she was catering to more of the alcohol drinkers then she was the clients that just come in for a nice meal. For example somebody came into the bar and set at the bar and ordered something to eat after we had already been there and put our order in and they got their food way before we did. It took them well over 45 minutes to cook our steak and they were still raw I had to take them home and cook them at home because they were not cooking them right. Yes I know I'm picky so if you got to cook in your restaurant that don't know how to cook get rid of them. Missy is probably one of the worst waitresses we have...
